Carlos Boozer had 25 points and 14 rebounds and Andrei Kirilenko added 16 points in his new reserve position and the Jazz opened the season with a 98-94 win over the Nuggets Wednesday. Mehmet Okur had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Ronnie Price finished with 5 assists starting in place of Deron Williams, who is out with a sprained ankle.

Andrei Kirilenko's agent does not doubt that Russian pro team CSKA, the reigning European champion from Moscow, would snatch up the country's premier and highest profile player in a heartbeat. But, inspite of rumors about the Jazz forward's future that are being bandied about on the Internet and on local sports-talk radio, do not count on AK-47 shooting off to Russia anytime soon.

Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko missed practice Thursday due to a travel visa, a day before Utah faced the LA Lakers in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals. Agent Marc Fleisher mentioned Kirilenko had to finalize a travel visa for a family trip to France in the summer and Thursday was the only day he would do it without having to wait another month.

Utah forward Andrei Kirilenko will miss Friday's game at Phoenix and is doubtful for Saturday's home game against Denver. Kirilenko injured his right hip Monday when he was knocked down by Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, who was called for a flagrant foul on the play. The NBA suspended Nowitzki for one game Wednesday.

Dirk Nowitzki was suspended without pay for one game by the NBA Wednesday for his hard foul on Utah's Andrei Kirilenko. Nowitzki will miss the Mavericks' next game, at home Thursday night against the divisional rival Houston Rockets, who recently passed them in the tight Western Conference standings.

After looking dead serious for most of the night, Utah's Andrei Kirilenko would not stop from grinning slightly as he walked to the bench during a time out. Kirilenko had only sealed his 3rd triple double in Utah's unlikely 120-96 rout of the LA Lakers Friday.

Andrei Kirilenko seemed to be everywhere on the court. The long-armed Russian had 4 steals, a blocked shot and numerous other tipped passes and deflections on defense. Kirilenko also tallied 15 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists to fall only shy of his 3rd career triple-double to spark the Jazz over the sloppy Grizzlies 118-94 Saturday night.

Kobe Bryant has had so lots of buzzer-beaters and 50 point games, he's lost count. When he blocks a dunk attempt, now that is memorable. The LA Lakers were leading by 7 points midway through the 4th quarter when Bryant made the ultimate defensive stop on Utah's Andrei Kirilenko.

Is it probable Shawn Marion and Andrei Kirilenko will be traded for one another at halftime Monday when the Jazz plays the Suns? Could Kirilenko and Marion play against their former teams in the 2nd half? Hard to figure why this deal has not happened yet.

Andrei Kirilenko could not want to be a member of the Jazz anymore, however that does not mean he will not be with the team when training camp opens on October 2 in Boise. "We have a contract with (Kirilenko), and we expect him to be back", mentioned Jazz vice president of basketball operations Kevin O'Connor Wednesday.
