Even without All-Star guard Brandon Roy, the Portland Trail Blazers earned an impressive win on Tuesday night. Steve Blake had 21 points, LaMarcus Aldridge added 20 and the short-handed Blazers beat the Boston Celtics 91-86, sending the NBA champions to their third loss in four games.

This time, Brandon Roy and the Portland Trail Blazers didn't need any late-game heroics to beat the Toronto Raptors. Roy had 14 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter, LaMarcus Aldridge added 19 points and nine rebounds, and Portland beat the Raptors 102-89 on Saturday night, sweeping the season series for the first time since 2002-03.

After splitting two physical and competitive games with Denver, the Portland Trail Blazers see a rivalry in the making. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 22 points and Brandon Roy added 19 in Portland's 101-92 win over the Nuggets on Tuesday night in the second game of a home-and-home series.

Brandon Roy had a throbbing finger, a swollen knee and a challenge from his coach not to let either slow him down. Roy scored 29 points before sitting out the fourth quarter, and the Portland Trail Blazers snapped a three-game losing streak on Tuesday night with a 109-77 victory over the struggling Kings.

The more Chris Duhon drove by them in the third quarter, the more the Portland Trail Blazers knew the fourth would be theirs. And it was Rudy Fernandez, Joel Przybilla and the rest of the Blazers' deep bench that won it for them. Brandon Roy scored 23 points, and Portland dominated the fourth quarter to beat the tiring New York Knicks 104-97 Tuesday night for their fifth straight victory.

Greg Oden returned to the starting lineup for the 1st time since Portland's season opener, against an opponent the Blazers had beaten on the road by 21 points 4 days ago. An easy night's work? Not even close. Brandon Roy scored a season high 28 points and the Portland Trail Blazers rallied during the final 6 minutes to beat the Kings 91-90 on Monday night.

Portland have faced the NBA's best and broken even. The Trail Blazers, who played 6 of their 1st 7 games against teams that had won at least 52 games last season, beat Orlando 106-99 on Monday night for their 3rd-straight win and 1st on the road. Brandon Roy scored 27 points to lead the Blazers.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points and 12 rebounds, Brandon Roy added 24 points and 9 assists and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Timberwolves 97-93 on Saturday night to improve to 3-0 at home. Al Jefferson finished with 27 points after starting off 3 for 10 from the field for Minnesota in its 5th straight loss.

He did not have to wait very long. Roy made a 30 foot jumper as time expired in overtime to lift the Portland Trail Blazers to a thrilling 101-99 win over the Houston Rockets.

Travis Outlaw ponders his place with the Blazers' upswing. He has experienced enough success, last season hitting game winning shots at Memphis and Atlanta and finishing 9th in the 6th man of the year voting, that he thinks he would one day be an All Star. However, he wonders whether that possible will be stifled on a team built around Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden.
