Carlos Delfino had 20 points and 10 rebounds as Argentina defeated Lithuania 87-75 Sunday to win the Olympic bronze medal in men's basketball. Luis Scola added 16 points and Andres Nocioni had 14 for Argentina, which won the gold medal in 2004. It is the 1st time the Argentines have won back to back Olympic medals.

With an eye toward bolstering the team's depth along the perimeter, the Pistons were in contact with several free agent swingmen around the league, that included a former player, Carlos Delfino. The NBA's free agency signing period starts today, however the Pistons will not be in the market for big names, such as power forward Elton Brand.

After New Jersey was eliminated from playoff contention, Nets coach Lawrence Frank was apologetic for the Nets' poor play. Carlos Delfino scored 24 points, Chris Bosh had 21 and the Toronto Raptors beat the Nets 113-85 win Friday night.

Pacers coach Jim O'Brien thinks the Toronto Raptors might have the best set of backups in the NBA. Toronto's reserves scored 55 points, led by Carlos Delfino's 23, in a 102-98 triumph Monday night. T.J Ford had 16 points and 7 assists in 26 minutes, the most he's played since missing 24 games with an arm stinger.

Toronto's best players were out with injuries. It did not appear to bother the Raptors. Charlotte's best players would not shoot straight. It proved costly to the Bobcats. Kris Humphries and Carlos Delfino both scored 17 points, Joey Graham added 13 and the Raptors shrugged off injuries to 3 top players to hand the Bobcats their 6th straight loss, 98-79 Monday.

With LeBron James and Chris Bosh out nursing injuries, Andrea Bargnani and Carlos Delfino did their best to fill the stars' void. Bargnani and Delfino set career highs with 26 and 24 points each, and the Toronto Raptors won their 3rd straight with a 91-82 triumph over the Cavaliers.

The Bulls' dismal start has T.J. Ford confused. Carlos Delfino scored 16 points and Chris Bosh added 14 points and 6 rebounds to help the Toronto Raptors beat the listless Chicago Bulls 101-71 on Saturday night. The Raptors made quick work out of the Bulls inspite of playing their 4th game in 5 nights.

Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo had seen the reports concerning the minor knee injury Carlos Delfino sustained in Puerto Rico last week. He had spoken with the doctors and with the newest Raptor himself about the injury, the same knee that Delfino had surgery on earlier in his career.

The Pistons traded guard Carlos Delfino to the Toronto Raptors on Friday for 2nd round draft picks in 2009 and 2010. "We appreciate everything Carlos did for us whilst he was here and we wish him all the best with Toronto", Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars said.
