As the losses keep mounting for the Oklahoma City Thunder, they certainly aren't getting any easier to take. Craig Smith scored a season-high 23 points, Mike Miller drilled the game-winning jumper from the left baseline with 0.1 seconds left, and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat Oklahoma City 105-103 on Friday night to hand the Thunder a franchise record-tying 14th straight loss.

It is been 3 long weeks since the Timberwolves last won a basketball game. "It seems like 1,000 years", forward Craig Smith said. Not anymore, thanks to Smith's superb effort off the bench and Al Jefferson's refusal to allow his Timberwolves collapse in the 4th quarter again.

After watching Craig Smith develop into a hard-working rebounder and efficient scorer off the bench in his 1st 2 seasons in Minnesota, Timberwolves manager Kevin McHale decided to bring the undersized power forward for another two. McHale signed the restricted free agent to a 2 year deal Thursday that runs through the 2009-10 season.

The Timberwolves extended qualifying offers to restricted free agents Ryan Gomes, Craig Smith and Chris Richard Monday and chose to allow Sebastian Telfair and Kirk Snyder become unrestricted free agents.
