Darko Milicic was a force on defense, and even brought some offense to the table. Milicic scored 20 points and hounded Houston's Yao Ming, Pau Gasol had 26, and the Memphis Grizzlies weathered a 41 point display from Tracy McGrady to beat the Houston Rockets 105-96 Tuesday night.

Grizzlies center Darko Milicic did more than offend officials earlier this week during the European Championships. His new NBA managers are not happy, either. Griz GM Chris Wallace and head coach Marc Iavaroni spoke with Milicic via telephone Thursday, and admonished the 7 footer about his threatening and distasteful interview following a loss to Greece.

The Magic have held preliminary trade talks with the Nuggets about power forward Reggie Evans, however the deal still might be weeks away from transpiring. The Magic, in desperate require of another center/power forward after losing Darko Milicic to free agency, have also had contact with recently released Golden State center Adonal Foyle.

The Magic could have set their sights on veteran center Adonal Foyle, who became a free agent Monday when he had taken a contractual buyout from the Warriors. Foyle, 32, is an experienced center/forward who would fill the void, at least defensively, that was created when Darko Milicic left as a free agent for the Grizzlies.

The Memphis Grizzlies Friday signed forward-center Darko Milicic, the No.2 overall pick in the 2003 draft who is joining his 3rd team. Milicic put up disappointing numbers in his 1 1/2 seasons with the Orlando Magic after being drafted by Detroit. However, he averaged 12.3 points in the playoffs for the Magic against the Pistons.
