Drew Gooden gave the Chicago Bulls a big lift offensively and they held Tuesday, avoiding another 4th-quarter meltdown. Gooden hit his 1st 5 shots and finished with a season high 31 points whilst matching a season best with 16 rebounds in the Bulls' 103-94 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Appearances aside, the Chicago Bulls say they are serious about making a playoff run. A few more nights like this might convince the doubters. Drew Gooden tied a season high with 24 points, Ben Gordon added 19, and the Bulls beat Utah 108-96 Tuesday to snap the Jazz's 5 game winning streak.

Another big lead was disintegrating, and Drew Gooden had one thought on his mind, Not again. However, instead of a collapse, there is a sigh of relief. Gooden and Luol Deng scored 21 points apiece, and the Chicago Bulls withstood a 2nd half push by Memphis to win 112-97 Tuesday and extend the Grizzlies' losing run to 9 games.

Bulls interim coach Jim Boylan mentioned he's keeping Friday night's starting lineup to himself, however he and his assistants have discussed starting Drew Gooden for Tyrus Thomas all week. Whether Boylan makes another change and starts Larry Hughes in the backcourt is unknown.

The fact Chris Duhon is still in Chicago is a bit of a surprise. According to an NBA source, the 4th year point guard originally was part of last week's three-team, 11 player trade (in place of Adrian Griffin) that brought Hughes, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown to town.

Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden appear to be adapting to their new team only fine. Hughes had 29 points and Gooden added 10 points and 15 rebounds, helping the Chicago Bulls beat the Pacers 113-107 Wednesday. It was their 1st win since the duo was acquired from Cleveland on February 21 as part of a 3 team trade.

The Cavaliers have salary-cap issues and might be unable to re-sign Anderson Varejao and Sasha Pavlovic, 2 of their top 6 players. Do not be surprised to see them offering Drew Gooden, and he would end up with the Bulls, reuniting with college teammate Kirk Hinrich.
