Thunder sends Jerami Grant

Lakers send Kyle Kuzma

Lakers would benefit from a long, springy player like Grant who brings real shot blocking and switch-ability, a defense first 4 next to an offense only player in LBJ. Grant is a decent floor spacer in his own right, very capable from the corner. While it’s not a rookie deal, Grant’s deal does look to be a fantastic value. This would be a flexible piece to put with whatever bigger plans the Lakers have.

Thunder could really use the shooting and a bit of extra play making that Kuzma could bring. The loss on defense, while essential to OKC’s game, could be negated by a potential return of Roberson in 20. It would also be nice to shed a bit of cap due to the expensive payroll okc has.

I'd keep Kuzma. Salary.

I think the take of Kuzma>Grant is a little Laker-centric. Overrating the blue-bloods prospects.

I’m a Blazer fan, so I hate the Lakers. I also hate OKC. And it’s not even a conversation, Kuzma is way better.

Don’t know that I agree with the take that Kuz is WAY better than Grant. Grant shot the 3 at a much clip (39% vs. 33%), which the Lakers need. He’s also a considerably better defensive player.

If the Lakers were one piece away from real contention, I may consider this. Right now, I would say no.
