e use our Rumors Form to send us your NBA Rumors Heat center Jamaal Magloire will miss at least 6 weeks with a broken left hand, and maybe sidelined even longer if surgery is required to repair the fracture. Magloire was injured in Miami's preseason overtime loss against New Jersey in Paris Thursday.

With his game going south, it seems fitting that Jamaal Magloire should find himself in South Beach. Dubbed the Big Cat, the Toronto native was one of the NBA's largest busts the past few seasons, incapable of playing to the level that made Magloire an all star in 2004.

Jamaal Magloire has worn 4 different uniforms over the past 3 seasons, and spent last season as a forgotten man at the end of the New Jersey and Dallas benches. He does not think he's finished, and the Heat reportedly agree. The Heat signed the former All Star center Tuesday, 4 days after agreeing to basic terms with the 9 year veteran.

Seeking help at center, the Heat planned a Wednesday visit with Jamaal Magloire, 30, his agent said. Magloire, who is 6-11, has averaged 8.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in his career however played in only 31 games last season, joining Dallas after New Jersey cut him in February.

Center Jamaal Magloire became a Dallas Maverick Tuesday after clearing waivers and signing a one year contract for the veteran minimum of $1.03 million, which will be prorated. The Mavericks needed a backup big man behind Erick Dampier when DeSagana Diop was included in the trade for Jason Kidd.

The Mavericks signed free agent Jamaal Magloire to add depth at center that is been missing since DeSagana Diop went to New Jersey in the trade for Jason Kidd. Magloire should be available for practice Wednesday and would play as early as Thursday when Dallas visits San Antonio.
