There are now reports that have Dallas engaging in conversation with former Pistons guard Lindsey Hunter, who is a free agent. However, if you are a betting man, take my advice and assume that Hunter will not be playing for Dallas on Thursday, but that instead he will be playing against them. That is right. I am informed the Bulls, presently playing without the injured Kirk Hinrich and Hughes and desperately thin at guard as they prepare to host the Mavericks tomorrow, are confident they will sign Hunter today.

According to a league source, the Bulls have interest in Brad Miller (and lots of others) and are shopping forward Andres Nocioni (four years, $29 million left with team option for the 2012-13 at $7.5 million) and point guard Kirk Hinrich (five seasons left for combined $44.5 million). They appear very motivated to do a deal of some kind now that the Luol Deng situation was resolved.

The Heat is being patient in its search for a starting point guard in case something more attractive materializes than the current lot of unrestricted free agents. The Bulls, for example, would like to secure restricted free agents Luol Deng and Ben Gordon before potentially moving Kirk Hinrich.

Free agent point guard Sam Cassell, 38, has informed the he's interested in playing one more season and will consider the Nuggets. And there are rumblings that, with Chicago having drafted point guard Derrick Rose with the top pick, Bulls point guard Kirk Hinrich maybe on the move, with Denver a probable landing spot.

A Heat official mentioned several teams have expressed an interest in Udonis Haslem if Miami drafts and keeps Michael Beasley, which remains a strong possibility. Haslem maybe swapped for a point guard, with Kirk Hinrich, T.J. Ford and Mo Williams in play, and less appealing names ( Jamaal Tinsley, Jarrett Jack, Kyle Lowery) also available.
