Miami was exploring a lot of possibilities, including, recent talks with the Chicago Bulls on several trade scenarios that included Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks for unsigned restricted free agent Ben Gordon, Larry Hughes and possibly Joakim Noah.

Though Dwyane Wade suggested Mario Chalmers could be Miami's starting point guard as a rookie, the Heat is not close to assuming that will happen however will have given him a chance to compete against Marcus Banks and a probable veteran addition. Miami also expects Chris Quinn back.

A scout for a team in the Eastern Conference thinks Miami has a real dilemma on its hands if it drafts 1st, even though it is looking as if the Heat is point-guard challenged because Jason Williams is free agent material, Marcus Banks still has some proving to do, and Chris Quinn probably is best suited as a reserve.

The Suns are not done acquiring players. Because they sent 2 players away for one in their trade this week, the Suns' have 12 players on their roster; the NBA minimum is 13. The Suns must acquire a player within 2 weeks from the time the trade is completed, which cannot happen until Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks pass their physicals in Miami.
