The Warriors got their 2nd dose of bad news this offseason when they discovered Monta Ellis will miss at least a month of the upcoming season with an ankle injury. Chris Mullin mentioned training camp was going to be an important part of Ellis' development as a point guard, however Ellis was going to get help bringing the ball up court from Stephen Jackson and Marcus Williams.

Multiple league sources mentioned the Nets and Nuggets have discussed a blockbuster deal that would bring Anthony and Marcus Camby to New Jersey. In return, Denver would get a package that includes Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, Keith Van Horn's contract and the Nets' lottery pick.

Jason Kidd is gone and Devin Harris is not ready. So now comes Marcus Williams' big chance, and he is looking ready to capitalize on it. Williams, in his 1st game as Kidd's temporary replacement at point guard, combined with Richard Jefferson for New Jersey's 1st 10 points of overtime, and the Nets beat the Chicago Bulls 110-102 Wednesday.

A report out of New Jersey mentioned the Nets are interested in Bulls forward Andres Nocioni. According to the , the teams have discussed a multiplayer trade in which Nocioni and guard Thabo Sefolosha would go to New Jersey for forward Bostjan Nachbar, guard Marcus Williams, guard Antoine Wright and center Jamaal Magloire.

One source mentioned the Nets will wait for Indiana to call about Jermaine O'Neal. They do not want to give up Richard Jefferson, Nenad Krstic and Marcus Williams for O'Neal, as the Pacers asked for in their last conversation.

The Nets appear set at point guard, with Jason Kidd for the present and Marcus Williams for the future. So it would take a special skill for them to veer away from their requirement for size in the NBA Draft and grab a point guard with their No.17 pick in the 1st round. Javaris Crittenton of Georgia Tech might be such a talent.
