Let's be realistic. Suns aren't getting Lillard, Ainge wants a Brooklyn ransom for Rozier, and MJ is delusional and won't trade Kemba for anyone not named Booker. So....

Let's be realistic and become as efficient as possible.

Suns trade 1st round pick owed by Bucks, 2nd round pick in 2019 draft.

Nets trade Spencer Dinwiddie

Nets get something for a quality player that will leave for more $ after the season. They already have Russell so they can afford to trade him.

Suns can likely resign him and will have cap space to do so.

Dinwiddie is one of the most efficient 2 way pgs in the league, he's still progressing upward as a player and immediately makes the Suns a better team.

You're right, Lillard, Rozier, and Walker probably aren't realistic targets considering how little Phoenix is making available (you can't protect your 5 most valuable players and try to trade for a high end target) .

That said, I really like the fit of Dinwiddie in Phoenix. It would be nice if he was a better outside shooter, but that can come on over time.

2.) 17 Sep 2018 20:51:46
Patrick Beverley is the latest rumour, Suns could probably have him for that Bucks pick and he would be a great fit next to Booker.

3.) 17 Sep 2018 20:58:09
Nice under the radar player in Dinwiddie. Would be a nice pick up for Phoenix. Nets get two picks. Probably say yes.

Good trade rumor.

4.) 17 Sep 2018 22:02:26
Yeah, Beverley would be a good fit too. They seem like similar players overall. Dinwiddie fits their timeline a bit better.

5.) 17 Sep 2018 22:58:15
Dinwiddie is much younger than Beverley. Also, Beverley has been injury prone. He is good, but I would much rather have Dinwiddie. If Nets balk, then Beverley could be a short term solution to their PG problem. They could also look at Shrouder or Mills as short term solution as well, but Dinwiddie should be their target.

6.) 18 Sep 2018 00:49:09
Bmiller- Beverly can mentor heart, defense and a pro attitude.

7.) 18 Sep 2018 08:19:22
The Nets heving draft picks. Could this be real?

No, nice trade. Helps both teams.

The Nets still have Russel, so trading Dinwiddie, for picks would be a smart move.

I’m a big Beverley fan, but Dinwiddie makes more sense. Pat is a bulldog, but he’s not a true PG, more a combo guard. Trade does make sense in either case though, the Nets and Clips have the guard to spare, and are both looking for picks.

IMO, either Dinwiddie and Beverely would be good additions to this Suns roster. However, it's more of a chance that PHX seriously pursies Beverely because of his defense, his veteran experience, and being able to be a part of a PG "rotation" with the untried kids Igor plans to use there next to Booker.

Suns offseason:

First off it's important to understand the direction the Suns are heading. The Suns have a plan and that plan will take years to come into fruition. Not what Suns fans want to hear I understand. But its the right plan for sustainable success down the road. Ryan McDonough has made their philosophy known. Keeping with this philosophy in mind, here are some realistic, feasible and even some probable personnel moves.

Beginning with the NBA draft on the 23rd of this month.

Suns trade Brandon Knight and 4th pick to 76ers for J Okafor and 24th pick. This solves the guards problem in Philadelphia as now the sixers draft their coveted shooting guard in Jamal Murray. Brandon Knight, when healthy is a 20 point, 6 assist type guy. He's turnover prone, but he's still really young. Suns maybe come out on the short end here, but I believe Okafor will be a superstar in the years to come and would certainly be better than anyone in the draft this year.

Suns trade Tyson Chandler and 28th pick to Knicks for Knicks 2017 2nd round pick. Again on the surface the Suns get hosed. But unloading bad contracts costs draft picks and the Knicks are the only team that wants a draft pick that doesn't have one. Knicks can afford to eat Chandler's salary if it means a free pick. Chandler can still contribute and with the cap approaching 90 million the Knicks still haven't hurt their cap flexibility .

With the 13th pick the Suns draft Sabonis.
With the 24th pick the Suns draft Ulis
With the 34th pick the Suns draft Maker

Re-sign Mirza Teletovic, Bring in Bogdanovic

Okafor/ Len
Len/ Teletovic/ Sabonis
Tucker/ Warren
Booker/ Bogdanovic/ Goodwin
Bledsoe/ Ulis

It's not Paul Goerge or Demarcus Cousins, but it's a solid future and it's realistic.

I'm not sure okafor and Len would work together defensively. As a Sixers fan i'd prefer to somehow get Bledsoe and 4 so we could draft Dunn instead of Murray.

2.) 05 Jun 2016 07:44:37
Why dunn?, he's another guy who will need the ball in his hand and can't shoot well. Any of the other top guards would fit better. Especially if you want simmons.

Suns trade Brandon Knight, TJ Warren, Archie Goodwin and 4th overall pick 2016 draft to Pacers for Paul George

Suns trade 28th and 34th pick 2016 draft to Knicks for top 10 protected 2017 1st round pick.

1.) 26 May 2016 20:03:47
Knicks can't trade their pick since they don't have one this year.

2.) 26 May 2016 20:53:53
You have to include Booker and maybe even Len.

3.) 26 May 2016 21:58:11
I believe its going to take more than that to get George. Suns definitely have assets to get him with fair amount of young assets and 3 1sts in this years draft. Idk if they have good enough pieces in place (especially after trading for him) to warrant getting him however.

4.) 27 May 2016 03:54:00
Reasonably sure PHX won't move Booker in any deal. not even for George. Agree that teams such as Boston can put together a more enticing package for him that the Suns are willing to do.

Suns-Sixers trade

Eric Bledsoe, Archie Goodwin, 13th pick 2016, Suns 2018 top 10 protected pick to sixers

J Okafor to Suns.

1.) 18 May 2016 22:40:27
I think the suns are giving up too much. I think Bledsoe for Okafor straight up is fair value especially considering sixers loaded front court. I definitely don't think they need to include two firsts and if anything their 28th not their 13th.

2.) 18 May 2016 23:34:18
This is fair. Bledsoe off a catastrophic knee injury has less value so Sixers would agree.

3.) 19 May 2016 01:58:11
I don't like the idea of a Okafor, Len and Chandler rotation.

4.) 19 May 2016 12:37:03
If Suns wind up with one of the Sixers bigs it would be a triggering trade to move Chandler to a team closer to the top of the standings. He's 33, declining and still has $13m/ year on his deal for two years. He's only been a Sun for one year so I don't understand the fan allegiance to him. Maybe Suns trade him to Lakers for a 2nd rounder. Heck, send him to the Sixers in the deal so they have a veteran big man on the roster.
