Pelicans do a sign and trade with Washington ( D. Cousins for Otto Porter and Ian Mahinmi )

Pelicans trade first round draft pick, Solomon Hill and Alexus Ajinca to Houston for restricted free agent Clint Capello so that Houston has cap space to make a run at Lebron or Paul George or Kawhi Leonard.

Pelicans then sign restricted free agent Dante Exum and if Utah wants something in return we give them our 4 million dollar cash MLE, Eton Moore and second round
pick for a sign and trade.

Pelicans roster then is!

PG Rondo/Exum
SG Holiday/Frank Jackson/Jordan Crawford
SF Otto Porter/ Darrius Miller/Deandre Liggins
PF Davis/ Nikola Mirotic
C Clint Capello/ Cheick Diallo

And the Pelicans then have cap room to sign more reserve players.

The deal with Houston actually hurts their cap space, as Capela’s cap hold is less than Hill’s and Ajinca’s salaries. Makes no sense for the Rockets.

I don't think that Capela thing is going to come to fruition, but I really like that Cousins idea! I think the one thing Washington has been lacking is a dominant center, even though I really like what Gortat brings. Cousins would also get to play with Wall, which both would love, and they do have Oubre who should be able to step up into the starting lineup.

For New Orleans, I think it was a good experiment, but Davis is better off as the lone tower. Mahinmi will be a guy who can come in and either play next to him for a little bit or provide that defensive presence when Davis is on the bench. Porter will give them another scorer, giving Rondo a plethora of targets on the offensive end.

The Clint Capela thing won’t happen but would love to see it and to answer how money is gained from this for Houston. They would waive or buy out Hill and Ajinca. Won’t happen but they would save money and get a draft pick.

New Orleans- Trade Asik, Ajinca, Frank Jackson, Ian Clark, Diallo and a protected 1rst round pick 2017 and a second round pick

Oklahoma- Trade Paul George and Nick
Collison

* OKC buys out Asik, Ajinca and keep the rest. And now have cap space and enough picks to go after someone who better fits with Westbrook and Carmelo and crew.

Pelicans Roster-

PG Rondo
SG Holiday
SF Paul George
PF Davis
C Cousins

And if that's not enough assets to push deal the Pelicans can add 2019 first round pick as well.

OKC Roster-

PG Westbrook
SG Robertson
SF Carmelo
PF Patrick Paterson
C Adams

And they have enough picks from Pelicans and young talent to trade for a more serviceable PF and to a degree it's addition by subtraction for them because PG13 doesn't fit at all wit OKC and him going to Pels would make them dangerous behind
GS warriors
H Town
San Antonio and
Wolves!

Even if you added both picks unprotected, the Thunder could do better than this. They get what would most likely be two late picks, Asik's bad contract, no assets with much upside, and there is maybe one player in that mix that would even be in OKC's rotation.

2.) 15 Dec 2017 17:41:34
There are good assets OKC gets back so i disagree w rkenne_16 But Pels would need to help w cash considerations on Asiks contract. Other than that Pels go all in and hope to keep PG13 amd/ or Cousins in 2018.

What good assets? Asik isn't an nba player at this point, Ajinca is a 28 year end of the rotation player who's out until atleast the playoffs, Jackson is a late 2nd round pick with a broken foot, Clark is mediocre rotation player that isn't even getting big minutes on a team that's paper thin on the wing, I really don't know much about Diallo but even if he is a decent prospect he's definitely not good enough to be the main cog in a George trade, and then what would be a first somewhere in the mid20s .
Dacman aren't you the guy that consistently says that if Cousins was going to walk a package of something like the Nets' pick, Tristan and someone like Osman wouldn't be enough? But somehow this much worse offer would get a player with similiar value? It would be similiar to me suggesting a trade like Shumpert, Frye, Osman, Zizic and the Cavs first for Cousins.

Not realistic, but as long as salaries match anything is possible on here.

5.) 16 Dec 2017 16:27:31
RK That offer has been posted on here several times actually. lol That being said Jackson will be a solid PG when he heals. Diallo is a nice raw talent and there are two picks as well. Ajinca has a cheap contract expiring and even i said Pels should add cash to offset Asiks deal.

Why would okc trade collison?

Why would the PELs want Anderson. ? What could he bring them other than an over inflated salary.
