The Boston series showed that the Sixers need:
1) A smaller 2-way player who is quick enough to guard Rozier (not to mention Kyrie, Kemba, etc).
2) A player who can create his own shot off the dribble.
So here's a potential plan.
Trade Fultz, TLC, Bayless (expiring), the #10 pick, and the #38 pick to SAC for Leonard. I for one don't want to move Saric and if the Spurs require him to be included I'd pass. Maybe add a piece or 2 like Anderson or Korkmaz or another 2nd rounder if needed.
Then sign Avery Bradley. Bring back Redick on a MLE. Draft Jalen Bunson at #26 and a big at #39 (G Clark, J Jackson, M Wagner). Finally bring over Bolden and Pasecniks.
PG - Simmons/McConnell/Brunson
SG - Bradley/Redick/Korkmaz
SF - Leonard/Covington/Anderson
PF - Saric/Bolden/pick #39
C - Embiid/Pasecniks/Holmes
1.) 18 May 2018 20:49:18
Is that Jarren Jackson @ #39? And, this is apparently an important point, is this assuming Leonard signs an extension or hoping he will and being ok with a one year rental being a real possibility? MLE Griz can offer Evans is 9 mil per that's a fair offer for Reddick.
2.) 18 May 2018 20:52:05
Bradley is the guy I want most outside of superstars but makes no sense cap wise or team wise to get him and Reddick. Like it otherwise
3.) 18 May 2018 21:02:02
Those guys won't get you Leonard, even if Leonard doesn't agree to sign long-term. In NBA trades five nickels don't add up to a quarter.
4.) 18 May 2018 21:10:26
@btec lol, probably justin jackson from maryland.

Okafor for Hezonja. Maybe a fresh start for both?
1.) 10 Nov 2017 08:33:31
Philly is a good destination for Hezonja. And the value is fair. But Orlando already has Vucevic and Biyombo, so i think you should involve a third team.
Orlando: Clarckson
Philly: T Ross+ Hezonja+ 2rnd pick Brooklyn 2020
LA: Okafor+ return 2rnd pick LA+ 2rnd pick Brooklyn 2019.

Sixers held Okafor out of the Heat game tonight because, according to reports, a trade is imminent. Where do you think he'll go? I say New Orleans, for Ajinca and a 1st round pick, lightly protected (1-5) in 2018, then unprotected in 2019. But maybe Chicago? LA? Or...
1.) 12 Feb 2017 04:19:29
I'd like to see him and Stauskas to Portland for Crabbe.
2.) 12 Feb 2017 04:29:27
Okafor for Clarkson straight up.
3.) 12 Feb 2017 04:34:23
No to Crabbe he makes 18 million, hasn't been good on D and has been a slightly above average shooter at best.
4.) 12 Feb 2017 05:02:25
Crabbe is an average defender, and 43% from 3 is a good shooter. He's also 24 years old and doesn't get injured often.
5.) 12 Feb 2017 05:08:00
43% from 3 (7th in the NBA) is slightly above average shooting?
I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but of any team in the NBA, Phili can easily afford to take on a poor contrast, especially to get an elite shooter (which they desperately need) .
6.) 12 Feb 2017 13:55:11
I don't think it's a matter of if Philly can absorb the contract, I think it is that they are trying to only shell out top money for "elite" players.

Philly moves ---
Near the February deadline, trade Noel and the Lakers pick to Milwaukee for Khris Middleton. Trade Okafor to Washington for their 1st round pick (around 15?) . Off-season, resign Ilyasova. Draft Fultz or Ball with their pick, and Terrence Ferguson at 15.
Embiid/ Holmes
Ilyasova/ Saric
Middleton/ Covington/ Luwawu
Fultz/ Stauskas/ Ferguson
Simmons/ Bayless/ McConnell
1.) 09 Jan 2017 20:50:51
First trade, no. Second trade, not worth it.
Especially if they trade Noel. They have to keep a backup big man.
Middleton is worth more than an expiring contract and a mid to late lottery pick.
2.) 09 Jan 2017 21:21:10
at this point. Unless I get fair value I'm keep Noel and okafor. We have Noel birds rights so it's an easy resigning for us to have his skills as a back up big. And okafor is so young and costs nothing for us to keep on the roster to further develop.
So I'm keeping them both unless some one actually wants to give fair value. Middleton is hurt so I really don't want him at all. I never really liked him when he was healthy but I can see why people like him too. I personally just don't.
3.) 09 Jan 2017 21:47:14
Why do you think you can get even a mid-first-rounder for Okafor if he's not good enough to get on the court for the Sixers?
4.) 09 Jan 2017 23:02:51
Philly laughs and hangs up on the first trade, the 7th pick (currently) and Noel who has been proving his defensive value since returning to the lineup.
You want a big for Middleton whos coming off an ACL tear? Okafor + philly pick with top 10 protection for 3 years then converts to 2 2nds. Something like that is Middletons current value.
5.) 10 Jan 2017 00:47:47
You don't know wat you're talking about aspie because Middleton doesn't have anything wrong with his knee
6.) 10 Jan 2017 02:30:55
Aspie76ersfan First off, it's not an ACL tear it's not even anything to do with his knee. Second off he is 100x more valuable than Noel and that pick. Your trade is terrible, far worse than your garbage team to put it in perspective.
7.) 12 Jan 2017 03:44:36
If this happened i think the bucks would get noel and 2 1st rd picks and a 2nd rd pick
8.) 16 Jan 2017 23:41:36
Bucks- how about that "garbage" team taking your boys to school today?
31 Oct 2016 23:48:56
PHI/ GSW
Noel for McCaw, Looney (and McGee to make the money work) .
1.) 01 Nov 2016 02:23:51
So Noel for nothing. Interesting. I'll pass.
2.) 01 Nov 2016 12:42:43
McCaw is an interesting young player who has been playing well. And Noel's value is at it's lowest point.
3.) 01 Nov 2016 16:01:16
In what world has McCaw been playing well?

Supercollider: The Sixers CAN trade their 2019 pick. The deal with Boston was a pick SWAP, not a straight trade.
1.) 17 Nov 2018 03:10:07
The problem is its tough to trade the pick when you don't know if it's your pick, or Sac's pick yet. You could trade either pick with that exclusion/ inclusion but who would take that deal? I'm not sure you can have multiple deals in play on the same pick for sure or not. I never see it, so I got to think there is a reason why.
2.) 17 Nov 2018 05:20:32
I’d assume the opposing team would view it as the Philly pick in any trade and Philly could protect it top 5 or something to keep from losing tjen1 pick of something crazy happened.
3.) 18 Nov 2018 04:13:06
If Philly didn't grab butler they may have been keeping the SAC pick. It wasn't quite that bad but they needed something, even an injury to Embid would be massively crippling without a guy like butler. Rkenne_16 is right, but look at how complicated that exchange becomes. It confused me before for a while.
27 Jul 2014 01:41:28
If you are proposing trades for the Sixers, do not propose expiring contracts as assets. The only reason they would take any is if they also get top assets (first round picks) and/or top young players. No team that is under the salary floor will assume contracts just to pay more - they don't have to. So if you want Philly to assume your bad contracts, it will cost you.
1.) Sixers get Stoudemire, Shumpert, Smith
Knicks get Thad Young and Jason Richardson
2.) 28 Jul 2014 00:10:21
Argh! What did I just say?
19 Jan 2020 13:08:07
Sixers aren't trading Mastisse.
19 Jan 2020 13:07:15
LMAO. Stop, fanboy.
27 Jun 2019 04:21:28
Yes that pick (and maybe more) would need to go to PHI, not BOS.
04 Feb 2019 21:09:30
Mirotic D is not good enough for Philly. And Matthews will be signed after he is bought out.
18 Jan 2019 13:20:01
Sixers pass. They wouldn't give a first for Dedmon, much less also adding Patton.
The Lakers first round pick through Phoenix. Right now the pick will be around #3-5, and the pick is top-5 protected. It is top-3 protected in 2016-17 and then unprotected in 2018.
