Boston - Sixers
Boston gets: Noel, grant, staukas, and rights to micic, sixers 2nd rd pick

Sixers get: Bradley, young, celtics 1st rd pick.

Take out Grant and i think it's good.

2.) 17 Aug 2016 15:58:31
This comes down to Bradley and a No. 1 for Noel, because Young is no good and the two Sixer fill-ins won't crack Boston's rotation.
Boston would turn down this deal because there are not enough roster spots, and Noel is going to want to get paid next year. Bradley is on a team-friendly deal.
Plus, it would be an offensive downgrade for the Celtics.

3.) 17 Aug 2016 15:59:19
actually a solid trade. Both teams should say yes.

4.) 17 Aug 2016 17:40:41
The Celtics would probably say no because we lose probably our best shooter. We were in the top 15 I think in 3-pointers attempted so clearly we like taking them. But we were in the low 20s in 3-pointers made. Losing Bradley would make that even worse.

Also if that's this years Celtics pick, which has swap rights with Brooklyn that makes the deal even worse because that will be a better pick than our pick no matter what. Also like Supercollider said, no players we are getting other than Noel is going to play for us.

5.) 17 Aug 2016 19:30:59
Bradley is Boston's best shooter.?

6.) 17 Aug 2016 19:44:44
Larry

if Bradley is bostons best shooter then he's responsible for a lot of those misses I assume. and Noel is perfect for bostons system. Always felt he would do well there. He's from Boston too which I thought could help an energy guy like Noel.

7.) 17 Aug 2016 20:12:42
Of guards, yes Bradley is our best shooter. He shot .361 from 3 this season only behind Olynyk and Jerekbo. So if you subtract Bradley and add in Noel you lose Bradley's shooting and it also takes minutes away from both Olynyk and Jerekbo. Also just because he is our best shooter doesn't mean he is the reason for a lot of those misses.

Don't get me wrong about Noel being a great fit with the Celtics, he is but not at the lose of our best shooter with no clear replacement.

8.) 17 Aug 2016 20:55:07
And Bradley was also our 3rd best shooter in 2-pointers as well, behind again two forwards in Crowder and Johnson. So I think that definitely warrants for our best shooter in terms of guards.

9.) 17 Aug 2016 21:30:14
Larry.

I can see your point there. Ashame Boston hasn't addressed those problems. and hortford is a nice player but to not address the glaring weakness at center is amazing to me. Amir Johnson starting at pf I guess and move hortford to center is the plan?

10.) 17 Aug 2016 21:56:33
I think that the reason they haven't really gone all out on trying to find that defensive center is because they don't like the offers and they are perfectly content with the center play they have since the perimeter defense is so strong. I think their main focus is on scoring. Our weakness with putting the ball through the hoop was made so ever clear in the playoffs against the Hawks when they shut down Thomas. That's why we brought in Horford, a big that isn't too bad at defending the rim and can also be a great option at putting the ball through the hoop down low.

Knight, Warren - Rubio. phx gets robbed.

2.) 06 Aug 2016 05:30:23
Suns get robbed and Wolves get too much in return.

3.) 06 Aug 2016 07:18:29
The last thing the Suns need is another PG.

4.) 06 Aug 2016 16:39:03
Sixers pass on pek. No reason for him here.

3 team trade: sixers-twolves-suns

Suns get rubio, j. Grant, and 2 2nd rd picks

Twolves get Noel, Marshall, Goodwin

Sixers get knight, pekovic

Twolves create a lot of cap space
Suns get a true pg
Sixers meet the salary floor.

Butterfingers

1.) 04 Aug 2016 16:04:04
Sixers pass big time on pek. No reason to have him.

2.) 04 Aug 2016 20:27:29
Are there fines for not getting to the salary floor, or is the team just paying the difference between the floor and thier cap to it's current players?

Example: team, owes 50 mill in salary to thier roster going into the year and the salary cap floor is 75 million. Does the team just need to divide the difference of 25 million to it's current roster or are there additional penalties?

3.) 04 Aug 2016 21:32:37
The difference between salary and floor is divided between the players on the roster, there's no real penalty.

4.) 04 Aug 2016 22:08:25
The remaining cap is evenly distributed among the current players.

5.) 04 Aug 2016 22:24:36
I believe it is just the division of the remaining money to players currently on the roster.

I'm also pretty sure that a team doesn't have to get to the floor until sometime in April (although someone might want to double check that)

6.) 04 Aug 2016 23:06:31
Yes I do believe that's how it works.

7.) 04 Aug 2016 23:16:44
Any remaining cap space below the minimum is distributed equally among the players, how they decide what constitutes a player (ten day contracts, mid season trades, I do not know) . There is no penalty for the deficit like the dollar for dollar luxury tax for exceeding the cap.

8.) 05 Aug 2016 04:22:11
So there's really no real reason to HAVE to get to the salary floor from a organizational standpoint. They just know prior to the season that they are spending whatever the floor is one way or another.

Sixers got rid of mcw because he couldn't shoot so why would they want him back now. They have their PG in Simmons they need shooters.
