Toronto may deal any one of about 4 guys that are in demand, but they won't be looking for a rebuilding package when they do. If more than one go it will likely be a consolidation deal (like KD if he becomes available) . Multiple picks really don't have that much appeal to the Raptors; they'd rather have good young players that can fit.

LAL

Lakers get Gary Trent Jr.
Raptors get Patrick Beverley, Max Christie, 2023 2nd round pick, 2024 2nd round pick (via MEM), 2025 2nd round pick and 2027 2nd round pick

Schröder - Westbrook
Walker IV - Reaves - JTA
Trent Jr. - Brown Jr.
James - Hachimura - Gabriel
Davis - Bryant - Jones

How many 2nd round picks do the Lakers have? Didn't they just give 3 to Washington.

2.) 26 Jan 2023 16:53:50
Those are the all remaining.

3.) 29 Jan 2023 16:56:44
My thoughts are this is a ridiculous proposal.

Clippers

- trade Covington, Jackson, Boston Jr. and 2028 1st round pick for Fred VanVleet and Khem Birch

VanVleet - Wall - Preston
Powell - Kennard - Mann
George - Batum - Coffey
Leonard - Morris
Zubac - Birch - Brown

Masai/ Raptors fans say no.

Pelicans get Myles Turner, Chris Duarte and Oshae Brissett
Pacers get Trey Murphy Jr., Jonas Valenciunas and Garrett Temple

Daniels - Alvarado - Lewis Jr.
McCollum - Duarte - Graham
Ingram - Jones - Marshall
Williamson - Nance Jr. - Brissett
Turner - Hayes - Hernangomez

Haliburton - McConnell - Taylor
Hield - Nembhard - Temple
Murphy Jr. - Mathurin - Nesmith
Smith - Jackson - Johnson
Valenciunas - Theis - Bitadze

Pelicans get great compliment piece next to Zion and backup shooter. Pacers get their future SF and an old-school center.
(Since Murphy Jr and Turner are the centerpiece of this hypothetical trade, other parts of the deal may change such as role players and picks)

1.) 14 Jan 2023 11:29:30
Don't like it for NO, Murphy is a big talent and they'd need to resign Turner.

2.) 14 Jan 2023 12:53:42
Absolutely a no from Pels. Turner is not enough upgrade over JV to give up Trey.

3.) 14 Jan 2023 12:53:48
Agree with Nightcap. How much of a difference is there between Turner and Valenciunas and is that difference worth giving up Murphy? I don't think it is. Especially with Valenciunas already under contract for next season.

4.) 14 Jan 2023 12:57:10
The value is pretty good. Murphy is underrated but they get a worthy replacement for Valanciunas.

5.) 14 Jan 2023 15:01:43
I Think this can work for both sides.
I trow in the Boston or Cleveland pick, if necessary.

Murphy can become a starter in Indy an Valcniunas is a good replacement untill, Jackson develops in a starter.

Turner is a great fit in NO, if they can resign him for a reasonable price.

6.) 14 Jan 2023 16:00:24
There’s no way. None. That Turner warrants giving up Murphy.

7.) 14 Jan 2023 17:46:14
I understand your points about NOP’s perspective (e. g. uncertainty in Turner’s renewal), but they get very good value in the deal (Turner offers mobility, rim protection and stretching options, which are very essential for a modern center and 30-years old Valenciunas partly do them. Also, he can perfectly partner with Zion during best years of his career) .

I agree that Pacers have to push for this deal. They can even offer some picks and/ or absorb some non-expiring contracts of NOP since they have cap space, like that of Graham. Even they can replace Valenciunas with Graham and Hayes in the deal if NOP prefers keeping Valenciunas.

8.) 14 Jan 2023 19:40:48
EU. Picks aren’t very important. Pels have plenty. The area the Pels could improve is at PG. and maybe a Def stopper behind JV at Center. Turner will demand more money then what JV is under contract for. Murphy is making huge strides in his overall game. It’s just not a deal the Pels would remotely consider.

Portland Acquiring Onunoby

Trail Blazers get OG Onunoby and Juancho Hernangomez
Raptors get Shaldon Sharpe, Isaac Okoro, Dylan Windler, PTB's 2025 1st round pick, PTB's 2027 1st round pick, CLE's 2025 1st round pick
Cavaliers get Josh Hart

Lillard - Payton
Simons - Little
Onunoby - Johnson/Watford
Grant - Winslow
Nurkic - Eubanks/Hernangomez

Cleveland can't trade their 2025 first, as it went to Utah in the Mitchell trade.

2.) 26 Dec 2022 17:27:51
Portland picks are also unavailable to be traded because of protections on pick owned by Portland.

3.) 26 Dec 2022 19:12:28
Right idea just not possible w the picks you added.

4.) 26 Dec 2022 20:01:34
Og is worth more sorry. OG will be an allstar soon enough and may win defensive player this year if not soon enough. Raptors should hold onto him and pair him up with Barnes for future. They should trade Siakim instead and let Barnes handle the ball more aswell as OG.

5.) 26 Dec 2022 22:28:01
Waaaaaaaay too much for OG. If I’m banking on future development, I think Sharpe has far more upside than OG. Plus you want to add in two firsts? Insane.

OG is a really nice 3&D role player. But he’s a lot closer to Jerami Grant than Kawhi. If I’m giving up Sharpe and multiple firsts, I want an actual all NBA player.

6.) 27 Dec 2022 01:26:19
So the Cavaliers give up Okoro, Windler and a first for Josh Hart! Ah, I don't think so!

When I claimed Minnesota should sign Fenerbahce's Nemanja Bjelica, 25, some people thought Wolves have logjam at 4, so they shouldn't sign him in the offseason. Now, I want to introduce you 2014-2015 Euroleague MVP: Nemanja Bjelica!

Cavs offseason

1) trade d.waiters, a.bennett, t.thompson, b.haywood and 2 future 1st round picks for k.love and r.turiaf
- that's one of the best packages for love which includes 3 promising&unproven players and future draft picks. Wolves have to trade love and, so, 3 young talents and future picks will hasten their rebuilding process. No need to say why cavs make that trade: they will have a big 4 (irving, wiggins, lebron, love) which is young and much talented.
2) sign g.davis (2-year, 6m) via MLE
- experienced backup bigman who plays both pf and c positions.
3) sign t.douglas (min.)
- backup pg who adds depth for pg/sg spots.

Irving - dellavedova - douglas
Wiggins - miller -
Lebron - felix - jones
Love - davis
Varejao - turiaf - powell

Why not? It’s better to increase your chance in lottery than being a perennial play-in team. Also, they wouldn’t trade Mitchell if they wanted to be in playoffs this season.

This trade gives them cap flexibility for next summer, too.

@TorqueHardbar I haven't heard it, so I can't object. Anyway, they can still offer that contract to Butler if they persuade him to play in NY.

@Fredman I referenced Mudiay's QO from Basketball Insiders which is a reliable website on salaries. Also, a team can trade for player (s) whose total salary is 125% of their package. If it still doesn't match that amount in this case, they can omit Okafor and surely it'd be fine.

Other than those, there is cap hold for Zimmerman (1m) and empty roster spots (4*0.55=2.2m) . Also, teams under salary cap do not have MLE, they have room exception in which they can offer 2-year, 6m deal at best.
