A couple of deals i think the Lakers could do to generate a more balanced roster, with much more consistency for some players in their roles.

1. Kyle Kuzma and Pick #22 to Portland for Robert Covington. Gets Portland a 1st Rounder this year, and some wing scoring.

2. Montrezl Harrell (Opts into player option, won't get much more than his $9.7m option elsewhere) to Houston for Avery Bradley and Danuel House.

3. Sign Dwight Howard with the Tax Payers MLE, which is approx $5.8m next season.

4. Re-Sign Dennis Schroder - Not really sure what his contract will end up being, but as they have his full bird rights, they can cross the salary cap to re-sign him. I'm estimating a 3 Year, $52m deal. Will likely be more.

5. Re-sign Ben McLemore and Jared Dudley to a vet min.

6. Sign Furkan Korkmaz for shooting, on a vet min.

7. Guarantee Alfonzo McKinnie's contract at approx $1.7m

Thank god the Luol Deng stretched contract is off the books next year. Can't wait to see a little more room for contracts.

Roster
PG: Schroder - Bradley
SG: KCP - Korkmaz - McLemore
SF: LeBron - House - McKinnie
PF: AD - Covington - Dudley
C: Dwight - Gasol

To extend this, I thought maybe moving Danuel House and THT in a S&T could be beneficial, perhaps with future pick (s) involved. I have my eyes set on Matisse Thybulle for this. Add some scoring on the wing for Philly, and add some defense behind LeBron in LA.

Understandably this goes a step further and may be a little more unrealistic. With either linup, salaries match up, but value of assets involved becomes a little more subjective.

Also wanted to highlight the "4th quarter crunch time" lineup. Being Schroder, KCP, LeBron, RoCo and AD.

2.) 12 Jul 2021 16:38:12
I’d want more for Covington. They gave up more than that for him. I don’t value Kuzma at all, he seems to define “replacement level player”.

3.) 12 Jul 2021 17:00:45
1. won‘t be enough for Covington. He‘s their only defender.

2. You won‘t get House and Bradley for Harrell. Why should Houston do that if there aren‘t at least two 1st Round Picks included? They have no use for Harrell.

6. Korkmaz will be way more expensive. He might get about 10-12 million a year.

Lakers moves going forward

Sign:
Kawhi Leonard - 4 year Max deal
Quinn Cook - 2 year minimum deal
Danny Green - Room Exception

Re-sign:
Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, Tyson Chandler, Alex Caruso and Johnathan Williams to min deals

If they're bought out:
Sign Andre Iguodala and Kyle Korver to vet minimum.

Lineup

PG: Rajon Rondo/Quinn Cook/Alex Caruso
SG: Kawhi Leonard/Danny Green/Troy Daniels
SF: LeBron James/Andre Iguodala/Kyle Korver
PF: Kyle Kuzma/Jared Dudley/Johnathan Williams
C: Anthony Davis/JaVale McGee/Tyson Chandler
TW Players: SG Talen Horton-Tucker, SG Zach Norvell Jr.

Very solid playoff lineup of:
Rondo, Cook, Kawhi, Danny Green, LBJ, IGGY, Kuzma, AD, McGee

I see this as best case and by no means am i suggesting this is how it will go.

I wouldn't think that the Kings would trade Gay and Cousins together. For 1 the salaries won't match and I would think that a team like the Thunder could and probably would give up a 1st or something to get Gay.

While it hasn't been made product of conversation in the NBA just yet, I personally think it is only a matter of time before Anthony Davis wants out of New Orleans because they just cannot win and they aren't getting any better. New Orleans could look to move him for solid pieces and picks to help reset and boost their future potential. Here is my proposed trade:

Pacers Get:
- Anthony Davis from New Orleans
- Will Barton and Wilson Chandler from Denver

Pelicans Get:
- Thaddeus Young, Monte Ellis 2017 and 2019 First Round Picks from Indiana
- Danilo Gallinari from Denver

Nuggets
- Al Jefferson, Rodney Stuckey and 2018 Second Round Pick from Indiana
- Tyreke Evans from New Orleans

Lineups

Pacers
PG: Jeff Teague, Aaron Brooks, Joe Young
SG: CJ Miles, Will Barton
SF: Paul George, Wilson Chandler, Georges Niang, Glenn Robinson
PF: Anthony Davis, Lavoy Allen, Rakeem Christmas
C: Myles Turner, Kevin Seraphin

Pelicans
PG: Tim Frazier, Langston Galloway, Jrue Holiday (OUT indefinatley)
SG: Monte Ellis, Buddy Hield, E'twan Moore, Lance Stephenson
SF: Danilo Gallinari, Solomon Hill, Quincy Pondexter
PF: Thaddeus Young, Terrence Jones, Dante Cunningham, Cheick Diallo
C: Omer Asik, Alexi Ajinca

Nuggets
PG: Emmanuel Mudiay, Jameer Nelson
SG: Gary Harris, Jamal Murray, Malik Beasley
SF: Tyreke Evans, Mike Miller
PF: Jusif Nurkic, Kenneth Faried, Darrell Arthur, Juancho Hernangomez
C: Nikola Jokic, Al Jefferson, Jarnell Stokes

Thoughts?
Constructive criticism only please.

For NOP it is too early to even think about that trade. Mid season they will probably do some minor trades (I think thay will trade some of those players - T. Evans, Ajinca, Cunningham, Pondexter) and maybe have some better fitting role players. Thay will surely hope J. Holiday will be back at this point and that they can resign him.

2.) 02 Nov 2016 12:17:13
That's not in the same ballpark as getting Davis. And somehow you're getting nice players from Denver too.

Boston would offer both nets picks along with a few players for Davis, you have to beat that.

Also, Davis is locked in for another 5 years (he's 4 games into his new contract! ) He can get mad, bit I don't think he really can force his way out. I don't see any trade that makes NO better in the short or long term.

3.) 02 Nov 2016 12:33:22
I stopped reading once the pacers got Davis AND other key players and didn't give up George or turner.

If you are going to be a homer, at least try and hide it.

4.) 02 Nov 2016 15:42:45
I love this trade for the Pacers :-) :-) :-)
But no way we can get AD fo that.

5.) 03 Nov 2016 07:02:24
That's way too good for Indiana no way the get AD without giving up Myles Turner.

6.) 04 Nov 2016 14:11:33
Please stop with the AD for mid-level Player package trades. They are not going to happen.

7.) 04 Nov 2016 14:22:07
This does nothing for the logjam at f/ c for the nuggs it makes it worse. The nuggs need a consolidation trade.

Bucks Get:
-Jahlil Okafor

76ers Get:
- Tyreke Evans
- Future First Round Pick > top 10 protected (MIL)
- Future Second Round Pick (NOP)

Pelicans Get:
- Greg Monroe.

Lei08

1.) 09 Aug 2016 14:07:03
The pick shouldn't be protected, but I don't like this for the sixers either way.

2.) 09 Aug 2016 15:12:15
I'd pass if I'm the Sixers. Not enough value.

3.) 09 Aug 2016 19:56:18
I don't think this makes the Bucks any better, the problem was having a five who sucks at defense, struggles to stretch the floor and takes too many shots. They face the same problems with jahlil, with some of those being worse, he'll want more shots, and is worse on the defensive side of the ball.

I'm of the strong belief that Anthony Davis is never going to win a championship as long as he stays in New Orleans. Despite the fact he has said he wants to build something with the Pelicans, let's hypothetically say that he gets frustrated and wants out before his current contract is up (2021). With all the TV money coming into the league, Davis' contract becomes an absolute bargain at between $22 Million and $28 Million over the coming years.

Davis is the type of player that can turn pretty much any team lingering around the 6th-8th seeds in the East into instant contenders.
Its going to need to be a team with endless assets and current talent that he can be satisfied with.

For argument sake let's say the trade happens mid way through the 2016-17 season so that we have a team with current players involved.

My hypothetical trade is:
Pelicans Get: Al Jefferson, Thaddeus Young, Monte Ellis and a 2017 and 2019 First Rounders
Pacers Get: Anthony Davis, Tyreke Evans and a 2018 and 2019 Second Rounders

Pacers Lineup
PG: Jeff Teague - Aaron Brooks - Joe Young
SG: Tyreke Evans - Rodney Stuckey
SF: Paul George - Glen Robinson III - George Niang
PF: Anthony Davis - Lavoy Allen - Jeremy Evans
C: Miles Turner - Kevin Seraphin.

Lei08

1.) 25 Sep 2016 13:16:01
The Pelicans would never trade Davis to the Pacers in any deal that does not include Paul George coming to N. O.

2.) 25 Sep 2016 17:32:45
I really really really love this trade
But i'm a Pacers fan.
No Idea why NO would do this.

3.) 26 Sep 2016 01:47:41
The Pelicans should get Turner too if you are not going to give up PG. and maybe 2 more 1st but Pelicans will still decline.

4.) 26 Sep 2016 03:29:45
I would have to say hypothetically, this is he most absurd trade offered in a serious and long winded way. The sad thing is. you think it is realistic.

If the Spurs want to make another Championship push, they are going to need to make a few moves to get their roster a little younger and a little more durable.

My suggestion:

Spurs Get:
- Draymond Green, Larry Sanders
Warriors Get:
- Marco Belinelli, Austin Daye, Damion James (S&T), Bryce Cotton, 2018 Round 2 Pick, 2019 Round 2 Pick and a 2021 Round 2 Pick (All Spurs Picks)
Bucks Get:
- Marresse Speights, 2016 Round 1 Pick, 2018 Round 1 Pick (All Spurs Picks)

Re-Sign: Aron Baynes - 2 years, $1.6 million ($800k/year)

Spurs Lineup:
PG: Tony Parker - Patty Mills - Corey Joseph
SG: Danny Green - Manu Ginobili
SF: Kawhi Leonard - Draymond Green - Kyle Anderson
PF: Tim Duncan - Boris Diaw - Matt Bonner
C: Larry Sanders - Tiago Splitter - Aron Baynes

i would think the lakers would want some form of draft pick back for a vet that has an impact as large as lou williams. even if that's only a second rounder or 2.

@NBA i agree, he probably should be getting between $22-$25 Million this coming year, but in this scenario, let's just pretend he accepts less money to be on a winning team (kind of a Spurs salary type situation with a majority of the team taking less money for more talent) .

I like this idea. I think a good scenario for a Perkins/Collison trade could be to the Grizzlies. If the Thunder throw in a second round pick they could et Courtney Lee and Sign and Trade for Mike Miller.

They could then re-sign Caron Butler and Hasheem Thabeet and then sign Pau Gasol for a reduced salary ($6-10 million)

Lineup would look something like:
PG: Russell Westbrook - Reggie Jackson
SG: Courtney Lee - Jeremy Lamb
SF: Kevin Durant - Caron Butler - Mike Miller
PF: Serge Ibaka - Perry Jones III
C: Pau Gasol - Steve Adams - Hasheem Thabeet

This lineup would facilitate for both a big lineup and you could shift Durant down the PF and play small!
