With Rockets getting CP3, spurs decide to blow it up.

Knicks get Kawhi Leonard

Spurs get Kristaps Porzingis, Courtney Lee, and Knicks 2018 1st rounder

Kawhi is only 26 years old (tomorrow) and has 2 years + 1 year player option left on his contract. I think its highly unlikely Spurs trade him or blow things up. Spurs have one of the greatest eyes for talent and getting valuable minutes from guys who have hardly stuck around in the league. Spurs will likely try to move Aldridge and Green still to free up cap space but even if they don't and assuming both decline player options for 18-19 they'd free up from the expiration of their and Parker's contract over 47 mill in cap space to add to their current 17 mil in cap space which is plenty enough to play with and bring in two close to max contract guys (assuming they make no moves this summer which they probably should)

I'm not sure what it would take for Spurs to deal Kawhi but its more than this. Ntilikina would need to be involved in addition to Porzingis with probably 2 future 1sts or something.

Spurs will keep him no matter what. We are not yet sure how Paul-Harden tandem will do. Spurs will still be top 3 in the West and will find players that will keep them from being a contender.

Celtics don't trade Nets Pick for Whiteside. Take the Celtics Pick. in 2018 and the Memphis Pick 2019. that's ok

2.) 12 Jan 2017 13:52:13
Hard to evaluate Whiteside's value because:
1. Stats on bad teams are often misleading.
2. Reports that he dogs it sometimes. Dave Cowens he's not.
Inclined to agree with HarryCeltic on this one.

3.) 12 Jan 2017 15:43:58
The same could be said about Cousins Supercollider. He doesn't play every play (especially on defense in the case of cousins) . Cousins puts up monster numbers, but has won 30 games all of once. At least Whiteside has been on a playoff team.

Whiteside is still averaging 18, 14, and 2.2 blocks. There's an enormous demand for him. And he's locked in long term. If Boston wants him, they'll have to offer a nets pick.

4.) 12 Jan 2017 18:31:49
Celtics and thier fans on here need to decide whether they are trying to win now or later. If the answers now the you 100 percent should be trading the bkn pick for whiteside. if it's a long term view then they might as well trade IT now.

Having it both ways isn't possible when you don't have a superstar core already. That Jalen Brown pick should have been traded at the draft for someone who could actually help them.

About right value.

I don't know if that's an actual trade rumor or one that someone just started with ESPN trade machine, but as a Knicks fan, that's is a great trade. Even if Howard doesn't work out, they would of dumped all kinds of money.

More likely to be traded Hassan Whiteside or Anthony Davis?

jimbo7

1.) 22 Nov 2016 11:32:11
I'd say Whiteside easily. I can't imagine any realistic scenario where trading one of the best players in the league who is only 23 and signed long term is a good idea especially if its to rebuild (he is the cornerstone GMs dream to build around) .

Whiteside on the other hand is older and Heat after losing LBJ, Bosh and Wade may finally have to hit the reset button. He is probably their most valuable asset and should be able to net them some significant assets. Dragic appears on his way out as well.

I like the Davis trade but that's the only move they should make in this scenario. They are giving up too much to get thompson.

I like the idea of Porzingis+ for Davis but there really isn't much value in the "+" right now. And i'm not sure the Knicks have anything that could go with Porzingis that would make it worthwhile for NO.
