Trade ideas for how the Pels can restock their roster and build a future contender around A. D.
Pelicans/ Nets Trade
Nets get: Tyreke Evans, Omer Asik, Ryan Anderson, Pelicans 2018 1st and 2nd round pick
Pels get: Joe Johnson, Thadeus Young, Ronda Hollis Jefferson
Pelicans/ Bulls Trade
Bulls get: Alexia Ajencia, Norris Cole
Pels get: Joachim Noah, Tony Snell
Pels 2016 roster
Holiday, Gordon, Johnson, Young, Davis
(absence due to injury to Hollis Jefferson and Noah result in a losing season/ high draft pick)
Pelicans let Joe Johnson and Gordon walk at the end of the year
Pels draft one of either Kris Dunn/ Jamal Murray/ Buddy Hield and sign Nicolas Batum in free agency for near max contract

Pelicans drastically improve on defense and acquire both cheap rookie deals and veteran leadership. This team would be much better suited to Gentry's coaching style given the numerous wings and potential versatility in lineups. We could also play small ball with Thad Young at the 4 and Davis at the 5.

Solid ideas, Just worry about QPon at the 2.But if He were healthy You would have wing threats w Him and Batum, that would open up AD from the double and triple teams. Noah defends middle and Jrue runs the show.

I don't think the nets would give up RHJ. But the trades do make sense.
