CLE-ATL-PHX-DEN

Cavs-
GET: Schroder, Bazemore, Faried, 2018 1st (HOU, 4-30), 2021 1st (MIA)
LOSE: Irving, Shumpert, JR

Hawks-
GET: Irving, Smith, Dudley
LOSE: Schroder, Bazemore, Prince, 2019 1st (CLE), 2018 1st (HOU)

Suns-
GET: Shumpert, Mudiay, Barton, Prince, 2019 1st (CLE, 11-30)
LOSE: Bledsoe, Dudley, 2021 1st (MIA)

Nuggets-
GET: Bledsoe
LOSE: Faried, Mudiay, Barton

Cavs get a good young PG (Schroder), a very good wing defender (Bazemore) a very solid backup big man (Faried), and a couple of firsts. They can compete this year, plus will have their PG of the future and a couple draft picks

Hawks have several 1st's in future years, so why not use a few to get a top 20 player, who's just 25, to start the rebuild (something the Celtics should've done, but never did)? They save a few million a year by taking on JR for Bazemore. Taking on Dudley gives them a stretch small ball 4.

Suns get a potential PG of the future in Mudiay, who could be a great fit alongside Booker, while dumping Dudley's contract. Adding Shumpert and Barton gives them guard depth that they needed and Prince can be a solid 3 and D SF if they go small with Jackson at the 4.

Denver uses a couple of their young pieces and Faried, who's become expendable with the addition of Millsap, to get a very good PG in Bledsoe.

Bottom line:
Hawks add young star to jumpstart their rebuild
Cavs get good young player & picks while being able to compete
Suns get a few young players and go all in on youth
Nuggets get a very good PG in exchange for expendable depth

Awful.

2.) 01 Aug 2017 20:55:37
If Hawks are getting Irving in a trade including both Nuggets and Suns something is wrong. Hawks may have a shot if they offer Schroeder, Prince and a first for Irving but I doubt two of the teams who are also in the Irving sweepstakes would help another team get him for less than they could easily (and should be willing to) give up.

3.) 01 Aug 2017 21:25:35
I agree that the Hawks could've offered just Schroder, Prince and a couple first's for Irving, but I don't think that trade helps the cavs really compete this year against boston. So knowing they want Faried, I wanted him in the deal as well. And since Denver wants a PG, I put Bledsoe (therefore Phoenix) in the deal too. Majority of teams want Irving, so almost any three team deal for Irving will include a team that wants Irving, but won't get him.

4.) 01 Aug 2017 22:11:52
My basic point is that I think Suns and Nuggets will make more attractive offers to Cavs for Irving therefore I don't understand why they'd help another team get him for less than I think Nuggets and Suns themselves would be willing to give up.

5.) 02 Aug 2017 07:59:36
So phoenix passes on mudiay and a first rounder at the draft, but takes some scrubs and muiday along with extra salary?

6.) 02 Aug 2017 13:14:55
They don't take extra salary cause they're trading Dudley, so Shump's salary is only a couple hundred thousand extra. Prince is only going into his 2nd year and Mudiay his 3rd. Barton averaged 14, 4, and 3 in 28mpg shooting 44%fg and 37%three. So I'm confused who the "scrubs" are that Phoenix is getting.

MIN/CLE/PHX

My crazy attempt to get Kyrie to MIN without getting rid of Wiggins, so bare with me

Cavaliers-
GET: Bledsoe, Chandler, 2018 lottery-protected 1st (OKC), 2020 top-10 protected 1st (MIN)
LOSE: Irving, Shumpert

Keep a starting caliber PG, add depth at C behind Thompson and get 2 future 1sts. Adding Chandlers contract is nearly a wash by trading Shumpert

Timberwolves-
GET: Irving, Dudley, Elijah Milsap
LOSE: Dieng, Tyus Jones, Bjelica, Aldrich, 2018 lottery protected 1st, 2020 top-10 protected 1st, 2019 2nd (MIA)

They want a superstar without giving up wiggins, they'll have to trade a lot of pieces. Adding dudley helps space the floor, but losing Dieng and Aldrich gives them little depth behind Karl now. They can move Teague mid year for a good back up C. But they now have a big 4

Suns-
GET: Dieng, Jones, Shumpert, Bjelica, Aldrich, 2019 2nd (MIA)
LOSE: Bledsoe, Chandler, Dudley, Milsap

Lots of moving pieces here. Shed 6mil a year on bad contracts (Chandler for Aldrich), add a more experience defensive big in Dieng who is also pretty young, get Tyus as a potential starting caliber PG, dump dudley's contract and add depth at guard in shumpert. They may not want to move Bledsoe, but he's said he wants to win so out of respect to Bledsoe, they should move him

I know there's a lot of moving pieces here (10 players and 3 picks), but it's my best-case scenario for every team if the Timberwolves want to keep Wiggins and Kyrie wants to be on MIN

1.) 28 Jul 2017 01:12:47
That will not land you Irving sorry.

2.) 28 Jul 2017 01:45:17
So Minnesota gives up scrubs, and big contract and get the best player, yet suns give up 2nd best player, and take on big contracts plus scrubs? Yep you nailed it lol.

3.) 28 Jul 2017 08:36:32
I don't think the Cavs will agree, but i do like the idea of adding Dieng to the suns young core!
I like what you are thinking but i don't think it will play out.
Would be fun to watch though!

4.) 28 Jul 2017 12:52:20
The Suns give up 2 bad contracts for 2 bad contracts and save 5mil a year in doing so. Plus they get Dieng, who average 10, 8, 2, 1, 1 and is solid starting PF who would fit well in Phoenix with Bender, Chriss, and Len. Plus Jones is a good young point that can develop into a starter. And Minnesota is also giving up two 1st's and a 2nd, not just giving up scrubs.

5.) 28 Jul 2017 20:02:20
Aldrich might get you Dudley as a money saver, but PHX needs more if they are giving up Bledsoe. Aldrich would be a nice get financially, and he keeps Len from leveraging an overpaid contract out of the Suns. At least send them Patton.

I think Dieng is more valuable to Thibs and his two-bigs offense, and while he is under-rated for all the little things he does, his contract is four years, and probably not valuable to the Suns. Most people don't know Bjelica, so I doubt he adds much trade value.

With this trade, MIN is sending out their 2015 pick (Tyus), their 2017 pick (Patton), the 2018 OKC 1st, and their own 2020. Granted, they are stacking up quarters to try to make a dollar, but Kyrie is getting at best 75 cents on the dollar like other star trades, and this is four quarters. Good attempt.

6.) 29 Jul 2017 01:27:34
Tlane13 your still not getting it dieng numbers are a joke, and phoenix is already loaded at of. Why would they give up Bledsoe just to exchange contracts? Dudley and. Handler were brought in for veteran presence and leadership.

NYK/HOU/POR

Knicks-
Get: Harkless, Ariza, 2019 top-10 protected 1st (HOU), 2021 2nd (highest of POR/MIA)
Lose: Melo

Rockets-
Get: Melo
Lose: Anderson, Ariza, 2019 top-10 protected 1st

Blazers-
Get: Ryan Anderson
Lose: Moe Harkless, 2021 2nd (highest of POR/MIA)

Knicks trade melo and his salary for a couple picks, a proven winger in Ariza, and another winger in Harkless who is still on the upswing

Rockets lose a future 1st, but swapping Anderson and Ariza for Melo is a big upgrade. Having PJ Tucker and Mbah a Moute alows them to lose Ariza's defense

Trail Blazers get a proven stretch 4 alongside Nurkic. They can use the $12.9 trade exception from Crabbe's deal to cover the difference in salary

tlane13

1.) 26 Jul 2017 21:52:16
Trailblazers moving Crabbe saved them over 60 mill in luxury tax. I don't think they'll take that back for a player like Anderson who is good but isn't likely to be a major difference maker for that is going to change the outcome of their season significantly.

2.) 27 Jul 2017 14:26:15
This trade rumor surfaced a couple of weeks back. Portland is adamant about not being a 3rd party facilitator that sends Anthony to Houston. I agree with Jaw457 but will be more direct. Anderson is a sieve on defense and at the PF position Portland must have defense and rebounding if they want to be more than a .500 team.

CLE - CHI - PHX

Cleveland wants Butler and the Suns have been rumored as a good 3rd team fit, so how about this:

Cavs get: Jimmy Butler
Cavs trade: Kevin Love, 2018 1st

Upgrade from Love to Butler, adds perimteter defense and Butler is on contract for two years (as opposed to PG13 for 1 year)

Suns get: Kevin Love
Suns trade: Brandon Knight, TJ Warren, 2018 1st (MIA)

They get some veteran leadership to help Chriss, Bender, Len, and Tatum (whom they draft since they traded Warren) while dumping Knights contract and retaining Bledsoe

Bulls get: Brandon Knight, TJ Warren, 2018 1st (MIA), 2018 1st (CLE)
Bulls trade: Jimmy Butler

This is what I'm unsure of. They get two 1st's next year plus two players under 26 that can help right away. They can draft a center at 16 and have a young core of Knight, Valentine, Warren, Portis, and 16th pick. It's not amazing, but all players that could be good starters. Plus having 3 1st's next year to add to it. But is it enough to justify giving up Butler?

tlane13

1.) 21 Jun 2017 02:31:09
Cavs can't trade the 18. Their first tradable pick is 2031.

2.) 21 Jun 2017 02:34:56
Can't trade consecutive 1sts. They have already traded this year and 2019 away. Cavs can't trade a 1st until 2021.

3.) 21 Jun 2017 02:44:04
Not enough for Butler, don't think that is even enough for Love although I'm not sure Suns are right team for Love. I'd choose a young team closer to contention such as Nuggets or maybe even the Jazz who have 2 1sts and some young talent Exum and Lyles.

4.) 21 Jun 2017 03:11:36
No from Bulls.

If I'm losing a star #4 must be on the deal

TJ Warren is all right but it's a role player at his best
I'm not paying Knight salary. he is not a starter

Bulls want #4 and Chriss or Bender

If PHX gets Love there's not space for both at PF anyway.

5.) 21 Jun 2017 06:11:30
That's not enough for two years of butler! That trade would only happen if Brooklyns front office was making the decisions.

6.) 21 Jun 2017 08:21:27
Hope Phx doesn't trade for Love. They should keep the pick, they're a young team not too far away from doing something soon!

Suns - Magic- Pistons

Suns trade: Bledsoe, Pick 32, Pick 54
Suns get: Hezonja, Pick 12, Pick 25

Get another lottery pick plus move up 7 spots in the middle of the draft. Get Hezonja for SG depth. If he still underperforms, they don't have to accept his team option after 2017-18 season

Magic trade: Hezonja, Pick 25, Pick 35
Magic get: Jackson, Pick 32

Get Jackson, who they wanted at trade deadline. They will look to trade 1 or 2 of Watson/Augustin/Payton, so they will get a little more out of this as well, plus moving up a few spots in the early 2nd

Pistons trade: Jackson, Pick 12
Pistons get: Bledsoe, pick 35, Pick 54

upgrade at point, still get a couple picks

tlane13

1.) 15 Jun 2017 20:48:32
ORL says no.

2.) 15 Jun 2017 21:24:18
PHX would say this is doable.

I like this idea. Only change I would make is the Knicks get a first while the raptors get a 1st and a 2nd.
