Timberwolves center Jason Collins had surgery to repair a ruptured triceps tendon in his right elbow. The team mentioned Thursday that Collins was injured in a freak golf accident when his cart skidded several wet ground and tipped over. The Wolves acquired Collins in a draft night deal with Memphis that also brought them Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal and rookie Kevin Love.

5 hours after more than 2,000 draft-party participants cheered the arrival of new Timberwolf O.J. Mayo, their NBA hometown team made a midnight deal that reshaped its roster. The Wolves dealt Mayo's draft rights along with Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker, Greg Buckner and their contracts to Memphis for the rights to Kevin Love, swingman shooter Mike Miller, forward Brian Cardinal and center Jason Collins.

Among players the Heat was linked to in trade talks are Warriors forward Mickael Pietrus, Grizzlies forward Mike Miller and Memphis point guard Kyle Lowry. The also mentioned Knicks center Eddy Curry Monday, however it is doubtful Pat Riley could have interest in a big man who neither plays defense or rebounds and earns an average of $10 million over the next 3 seasons.

The Grizzlies' Mike Miller is supposedly headed out???perhaps to Denver???as Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley supposedly has ordered the team stripped of any big contracts. The Grizzlies admit they will move a point guard, most likely Kyle Lowry, leaving Mike Conley and Javaris Crittendon in Memphis.

Stromile Swift scored a season high 24 points, Mike Miller added 19 points and 7 assists and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Seattle Supersonics 125-108 Monday. Damon Stoudamire had 16 points and 7 assists and Hakim Warrick added 16 for the Grizzlies, who stopped a 3 game skid.

Based on the 1st 3 days of Team USA workouts, the 2 most likely candidates to be cut are Seattle forwards Nick Collison and Kevin Durant. Even though Team USA is thin inside with Chris Bosh withdrawing from the team due to a foot injury and Collison's strength is his defense and readiness to bang inside, coach Mike Krzyzewski appears to be inclined to feature more versatile perimeter players, that included sharpshooters Michael Redd and Mike Miller.
