Exactly why would the Sixers want to trade up? The top two players are projected to be Towns and Okafor. The Sixers want neither of them since they already have Embiid and Noel. They're sitting in a good spot at #3, pretty much guaranteed either Mudiay or Russell, the guard they need.
If you want the Knicks to trade down, you'll have to find another partner. I'd say the Lakers, but they have already traded a future first rounder. Maybe they'd trade #4 and Julius Randall to the Knicks for #2 in the draft. The Knicks would then get what's remaining of Mudiay/Russell after the Sixers pick.

sixers say NO. Not giving up a potential high lottery pick next year to move up 2 spots, especially when we have a guy we could really use still available at #3. makes no sense for philly

Problem is the Sixers don't need the top pick in the draft. They already have two big men.

Why is Philly trading up to get into the top two? The best players there are bigs and they are already loaded up front. Keep the laker pick and draft Mudiay or Russell.
