76ers offseason
Unfortunately, no big names will want to come to philly yet, that will be next year. Philly has a shot at this group though:
1. KJ McDaniels
2. Rodney Stuckey
3. Ed Davis
All 3 guys would come cheap, Stuckey and Davis are proven NBA players, not stars, but solid role players. And McDaniels and philly are a perfect fit. I think you get rid of jrich, canaan, Thompson, sampson, aldemir, and GR3. Replace them with the above mentioned guys.
Next:
76ers draft DeAngelo Russell with their own pick
Next:
76ers trade some combination(not all 3)of Lakers #1, Miamis #1, and OKC's #1 to move into the 6-9 range and draft Hezonja
Next:
Do whatever it takes to get Saric over here next year, or 2016-17 at the absolute latest.
PG: Russell, Wroten, Smith
SG: Hezonja, Stuckey, McCrae, McDaniels
SF: Covington/Grant, saric(next year)
PF: Noel, TRobinson, Davis
C: Embiid, Sims, Noel
Potential to be an excellent young team with a high energy starting 5 and a solid, NBA proven bench. No more rotating D-leaguers. Plus we still have are own #1, saric, and probably miamis or OKC's #1 next year. Average age of above team(all 15 players) is 22.5.

And if ANY combination of Embiid, Noel, Russell, and Hezonja show enough of a Olajawon, Garnett, Curry, KThompson potential, just might be enough to lure Durant here after 2016(he's from right down the road in DC. Close to home always helps)

I don't like those signing. The Sixers shouldn't sign anyone past a one year deal right unless it's a superstar which I agree none want to come here yet. What the Sixers truly need is a star from the draft or using some combination of players and asset to get one while still maintaining a high upside youthful core. That's there only chance to be good next season.

If you can't get a superstar either by trade or free agency don't sign mid level vets. It's a waste of playing time. Jason Richard and moute need to go to make room for playing time for the younger guys. These young kid will deveope faster if given more playing time. I don't need Rodney sticky to suck minutes up from Covington or another prospect we get with our hundred second round picks.

You really need to temper your expectations. I'm sorry, but to hold hope of those players teaching best of all time category before doing anything? Noel isn't Garnett. Garnett had a significantly better offensive game from day 1. Embiid is injuries and a diva. That just wasn't Olajuwon. And there other two, let them play and be themselves. Russell most likely won't be a league MVP. To expect him to be is nuts.

Pizza expectation is to win using this strategy of hinkies. For that to happen. These guy kinda have to be thouse type of players. This is why a lot of people think this whole plan it bs. I hope we hit on two of those. That's best case. Two out of four is solid drafting. Then sign the remaining guys you need.

Pizza.didn't really expect them to reach all-time great potential, just throwin out names these guys games have been compared too in the absolute best case scenario(and most likely will never reach). I was pretty sure everyone was going to take those comparisons with a grain of salt, guess not.
TreGib. McDaniels is a very young guy and having, oh say, 2 or 3 vets on a squad is always helpful. I'm not asking these guys to start, but having someone to learn from on the court will help our young guys develop quicker, even if that means 5 less minutes of pt, then having no vet presene at all. AGAIN, avg age of entire roster is only 22.5, youngest in the NBA by far.

I can strongly agree with what tregib and jvoug said but I don't think sixers go after those free agents. And if we bring in saric next season then we should put saric and hezonja in the d league 1st just to take it one step at a time because they r young and play outside the US where competition isn't as legit as to here. But having saric and hezonja on the same team can be a great combo in nba especially for the sixers. And having noel, embiid, russell, covington, and mcrae would be something special. But the competition at small forward will be extremely intense with having mcrae, covington, and saric and I would put hezonja at shooting guard.

Jvoug. Two or three vet are useless on this Sixers team. Moute took grants minutes all year even though moute should most likely not be here another season. And Richards is way to old to resign so all he did was take covingtons minutes down the stretch.

The only vets I want on this team are superstars. If not I'm just teaching these guy mediocre abilities from vets way past their primes. I need to give minutes out right now. I got too many young guys. If I put them in the d league then any team can take them. If I keep them in the pros only to ride the bench they never learn. Too many vets right now would be bad.

All i'm saying is planning on 2 out of 4 prosepcts to reach top 50 players of all time, or even 1 out of 4. its just a failure waiting to happen. let's try and have them all turn into fringe or potential all stars. Then you can talk about hall of fame. Otherwise, youll just be disappointed.

Mcdaniels burned his bridge to philly. Davis is similar to sims. I'll keep sims since I know he fits the culture and shoots fouls where as Davis cannot make a foul shot. I do want a veteran guard to work with Russell/mudiay and wroten.

Pizza not top fifty all time. But certainly top 20 at some point out of current NBA players. So Embiid Noel saric or this years draft pick need to be top twenty caliber players at some point in their careers. I think that be excellent. Drafting because the other two certainly would at worst bench pieces.

28 Apr 2015 13:17:11
You said as long as 2 of them reach Olajuwon Garnett curry and Thompson level. Thompson is the worst of the bunch. Otherwise your expectations are MVP in curry and top 20 on the other 2. Again I say, calm down. Let them all actually play and stay healthy. Then see where they go. Stop with these absurd expectations. If embiid ever gets healthy, which is a big if, he'll be a failure because everyone is demanding the next Olajuwon. Dudes played like 4 years of basketball. 2 of the at most were healthy. Just relax.
