Well played.

I'm willing to give Lamb a shot in Philly. But how about the Sixers get the Thunder #14 pick this year and the Thunder get a high second rounder and the Thunder get their pick back next year.

Giving the Sixers second rounders at this point is worthless. They've cornered the market already. They can fill out a complete D-League. Not a team, the entire league.

OKC should draft Payne instead and 2nd trade could look a little different but nice thought. They should sign Thabeet as 3rd string Center and bring Huestis up from the D-League.

So Sixers get the 14 this year. And lamb. Most likely both player we get there are solid bench pieces. For the pick next year which most likely will be in the twenties. Sixers would do that for sure.

Again, I agree with phillyrich. sixers have no need for more second round picks, its ridiculous. Take back lamb and novaks salaries, add a second rounder this year, and give OKC their pick back next year in exchange for this years #1. That works .

And once the Sixers get pick #14, they can wait for Grant from ND or they can call Miami and offer back their pick from next year plus #14 and try to get Stanley Johnson or Devon Booker.

Sixers wind up with Lamb, Novak, Grant for next year's OKC pick

Or, Sixers wind up with Lamb, Novak, Booker/Johnson for next year's OKC pick and next year's Miami pick.

They still have their own pick plus the Lakers pick next year.

I like this although if they get chandler they would not need dekker instead draft booker or hunter or anderson

Why would the thunder and the heat trade better picks from this year when they will both be in the playoffs next year? Delusional 76ers fans

02 Jun 2015 23:28:22
OKC isn't going to just "throw in" a lottery pick to save money lol. I love this OKC plan tho. it's actually perfect

And 2 2nd rd picks may be too much. Just do one

03 Jun 2015 11:34:07
Yeah. Kinda agree with theking. Sixers fans have these dillusional plans of packaging picks which will be awful next year and combining with wroten to eventually get a top 10 pick. We get it. You like the ideas. No other teams do. They won't happen. Sorry just the truth.

In response the the "delusional" comments:

1. The Sixers received the top 18 protected 1st rounder to take back $12m+ of the McGee contract. So its already established teams will do such a thing.

2. The Sixers want no more second rounders.

3. The above trade suggests that the Sixers take on about $11m in remaining slop contracts from OKC, just a tad less than they took on for the McGee trade as noted in point 1.

4. By taking on that slop, it was suggested that OKC give up this year's #14 and receive back next year's pick. That trade would be much less lucrative for the Sixers than point #1 above, since the Sixers would be losing a protected 1st rounder in the deal.

5. Since point #1 is not delusional and actually happened, then point #4 is not delusional.

6. IF the Sixers do get #14, then asking Miami to slide down 4 slots in this draft, from #10 to #14, in return for their own pick back next year is not "delustional" since its very close to what the Sixers did last year, trading from 10-12 to get their own first back from Orlando (Saric trade). Maybe there needs to be further consideration since the drop in my Miami suggestion would be a little more precipitous. The foundation is there although its not a perfect comparison. its far from "delusional."

So while the above criticism is understandable, its based on a foundation of point #1, which actually, factually occurred and point 6, which actually, factually occurred.

Look, I'm not trying to suggest the Sixers receive 24 year old Kobe Bryant for 3 second rounders and some guy named Fred. I'm trying to work off of factually based NBA trade precedents.

And damn, don't forget the Thunder get I. Cannaan in the deal (Joking, just joking about Cannaan.)

Feel free to tear me apart.

Thank you phillyrich1. But a certain person will troll the sight just looking to cut down sixer trades, no matter what. But never have the courage to post a trade of their own. Your ideas are legit, and the facts you state are exactly that, factual. Good thinking.
