Philly Minnesota Simple

Philly trades #3 and either heat or Lakers 2016 1st

Minnesota trades #1

Why for philly? They get their pg in Russell

Why for Minnesota? They still get okafor while adding another 1st round pick.

Done deal

As noted before, the Sixers will not be held up at the cost of an additional #1 to get Russell. They have the 3 pick and there are 3 extremely desirable players. They will draft one of those 3. If not Russell, they may just keep the BIG and go 3 young bigs for 2 big player spots.

They may be willing to trade back to say- Denver at #7- so the Nuggets can get Okafor or Towns. The Sixers would receive back one of Denver's stable of 2016 draft picks and still get one of the second set of players.

Its not Sam Hinkie's style to give up a first to get a player that will probably be there at 3 anyhow. Hinkie has given every indication that he will take the best talent at his spot or move back, not forward.

Or draft mudiay and like some scouts say that his jump shot form is good he's just needs to get consistent if Russell isn't there but he probably will be

No Sixer's DO NOT want a big. They have 2. We want Russell and no we have no interest in trading down unless Russell is gone.

If twolves really want Okafor, it puts the balance of power for this trade in the Sixer's favor. They are the team with the pick to get okafor. Twolves can take him #1 overall, but then they don't get any other assets. Twolves can also get him at #3 overall, pay him less, and acquire something from Philly. I think both teams could work something out. Sixer's trade #3 pick, Miami #1 next year, and Covington or grant for #1 pick and lavine.

JVOUG- gets his guy LaVine!!

DGRAY- I agree the Sixers do not want a big. If Russell is there, take him. If not, then consider trading down. If the trade down isn't there, take the big and work the three together at about 32 minutes per game per player.

But overall, there are options for the Sixers to the point where they can call the Timberwolves' or Lakers' bluff that they'll take Russell or trade out of their slot so someone else can take Russell.

Plus, Hinkie is just crazy enough where if he says he wants the best talent available no matter what position, the other two teams kind of have to believe him.

I would love for the sixers to get lavine in the deal too.

Russell
Lavine
Grant/Covington
Noel/saric
Embied

Here's an interesting article for everyone that wants to draft Mudiay. This guy has worried me from the start. This seals it for me.

i want absolutely nothing to do with him unless he falls pretty far.

Phiilyrich I never got to respond on the trade idea for lance and kemba walker when you said tony wroten shot 40.5 percent which is better than kemba walker but you didn't bring up his 3 point percentage which is a low 26 percent and wroten has a higher field goal percentage because he drives the lane more an has 4 inches on a smaller walker. Wroten also shot 35 percent from mid range which isn't good compared to most NBA players. When I said shooting 35 percent isn't bad I was talking about 3 point percentage not overall percentage .
I just wanted to let you know not to get my words twisted in the wrong way.

06 Jun 2015 05:29:17
What's your point? That's why he isn't the consensus number one. That's why people look at things other than stats. Something you prob should do when realizing Covington and wroten aren't amazing like you claim

06 Jun 2015 05:38:58
If Russel is gone that the sixers will pick Mudiay, simple as that.

06 Jun 2015 14:53:02
Kiks: I don't think its that simple. See the above article about Mudiay.

Also, I really don't think Hinkie's going to let Okafor or Towns just slip right by without taking trade offers for the #3 spot. That would be foolish when there's plenty of demand for the BIG that falls to 3 and plenty of good shooters between 4-8 such as Hezonja, Winslow, Kaminski (now projected as a top 8 (Porzingis, Stanley Johnson, etc.) that fit into what the Sixers are trying to do.

Would you rather have Mudiay at 3 or one of the above plus a player/future pick?

I think the Sixers are in a great spot here. There are 3 top-top players and if the one they don't want isn't there, someone will badly want that guy.

@King:

". I've been watching him since his UCONN days and he's shooting around 35 percent which isn't bad but he's only 24 and has room to improve"

So you were not specific about 35% being his 3 PT shooting percentage- probably because he shot 3's at 30.4%, not 35%.

Nice try.

At pizza I was looking at the stats like Phillyrich does all the times so say something to him and I never said anything about Covington on this post

06 Jun 2015 16:04:47
His shooting percentages dipped this because when al Jefferson was hurt he was relied on as the number one scoring option on a hornets team and he isn't ready to be a number one option but he can because he's only 24 and in college his three point percentage in his last year was 34 percent also

06 Jun 2015 17:50:21
Point less trade for Sixers. Russel will fall to them at three Nd if not they get one of the super bigs in this draft for a huge competing advantage or a trade piece later. The bigs have more value then the Russell and mudiay. Why would the Sixers give up so much to move up?

06 Jun 2015 22:47:40
That a boy, King. Look up the stats. It makes for a better debate. Good job.

Pizza, I hope you weren't talking about me and insinuating that I thought Covington and Wroten are "amazing." They're pretty good and seem to be growing with the team.

Covington seems to have found his role while Wroten is big and can score. I'm not sure they'll be Sixers 12 months from now but they're here now.
