76er / Heat / Pistons

Sixers get #8 pick this year from Pistons, Birdman(cut) and chalmers(cut) from Heat($10 mill salary dump for heat)

Pistons get #10 pick this year from heat and OKC #1 next year

Heat get own #1 back next year, Wroten, and #35 and #38 this year from philly. Plus dump nearly 10 million in salary.

1.Pistons seemed to be linked to Stanley Johnson and Frank Kaminsky, and one, if not both, will be there at #8 or #10. Why not drop 2 spots, still get your guy, and pick up an additional #1 next year.
2.heat need to dump salary, have to resign Whiteside, Dragic and Wade. Already at the second highest guaranteed salary in the entire NBA next year. Get to dump close to $10 mill on the sixers. Heat get own #1 back next year, Wroten(good insurance if wade goes down), and 2 high second round picks this year who don't get guaranteed big $$.
3.Sixers get Hezonja at #8 and draft Russell with the #3 pick. Still have own #1, Lakers #1, and Saric(whos been on fire lately) coming next year.

I like it

That really looks like two separate trades to me:
1. Sixers get #10 and salary dump from Heat in exchange for Heat pick next year, Wroten, and 2 2nd rounders.
THEN:
2. Sixers get #8 and Detroit gets #10 and OKC pick.

Questions:
1. Do the Sixers wind up with a better player than Tony Wroten for all the assets they give up and cap $ they take on?
2. Does Detroit need to be in this trade at all?-- would the Sixers be satisfied at the #10 spot and keeping the OKC pick?
3. Who do you like at #8 or #10 for the Sixers (to compare to Tony Wroten question? Stanley Johnson, Devon Booker?) Is Hezonja really there at 8?
4. Would you like to see a Wroten/Russell backcourt before making this move?

Good idea overall. I'm not bashing it. Just asking discussion questions.

Phillyrich. good questions.
1. The idea was to get young players with the "superstar" potential. I like wrote, but I think hezonja has a skill set on a whole different level. And the assets are 2 second rounders(which we have ten thousand of), and okc#1. We improve on the heat pick ( which is top 10 protected next year).
2. Detroit needs to be involved for the sixers to go from #10 to #8.
3. The only way this trade happens is if hezonja is available at #8. I've seen him anywhere from 5 to 11. Its possible he slides to 8.towns, okafur, Russell, mudiay, Winslow, wcs, porzingis. There's 7 guys who could possibly go ahead of hezonja.
4. Again, I'm a wroten fan, but you have to give up to get. I'd like both my guards to be able to shoot with Noel at PF.

Detroit is linked to Mario and Winslow first and foremost. Yes Johnson and the Tank are on their radar, but they won't trade back unless they get a boat load if Winslow or Mario is on the board.

totellthetruth. I would be shocked if winslow is there at #8. I didn't realize Detroit was so high on hezonja. Thought KCP was the guy at SG for Detroit. thought Tank and Johnson fill needs better, especially if Monroe leaves.

I like the deal but heat will say no. They want that pick at ten this year. So many young guys should drop to that spot so they probably will look to dump salary later after the draft.

tregib. I thought Miami may be good with it since Whiteside, Bosh, Wade, and Dragic really haven't had the chance to play together, adding a rookie who will get paid big $$ to sit on the bench while the established guys gel together is a waste for a team with cap issues. Also, Miami is completely out of the draft next year, no first or second round picks. I thought having their #1 back next year would make more sense for them. along the way picking up 2 second rounders this year, wroten, and a 9.5 million salary dump.

I like it the only team I see questioning it is maybe PHI since they take.on all that salary

I would like it if only hezonja is there

they are high on Mario but not as a SG they like him as a SF with a high ceiling to progress. Johnson they feel according to an interview with SVG is a project with an NBA body more of a defender then an offensive player. Mario has the Offense and the athletism to play defense in the NBA, but he has to get stronger and learn to play better defense according to the interview.
