Ok, this is a stretch, but it would be cool to see it happen.
If Melo continues to become displeased with the way Phil Jackson is constructing the Knicks while they continue to miss out on the best free agents, he could demand a trade.
Not many teams would take that hefty contract for a pre-madonna, but the Bulls would because they are in a "win now" mode and need to take a chance. So,
Trade: BULLS-KNICKS-PELICANS
Bulls Get: Carmelo Anthony
Knicks Get: Eric Gordon, Taj Gibson, Doug McDermott, 2 First Rounders (Bulls 2016 & Eventual Protected Kings pick that Bulls own)
Pelicans Get: Joakim Noah
BULLS get the superstar potential and scoring in the playoffs that they need.
Resign Dunleavy (Vet Min)
Resign Hinrich (Vet Min)
Sign Jameer Nelson (Vet Min)
Sign Ryan Hollins (Vet Min)
Sign Dahntay Jones (Vet Min)
Next they could try to sign David West to play PF at a reduced priced for a championship contender. This would keep Mirotic as a spark off the bench and give Portis time to develop.

U got to throw Knicks more I think more is Noah he's a top 5 center when healthy and Noah brings the type of center tht fits in Phil Jackson's triangle mirotic

Funny u want put together butler melo rose all maxed out. With pau u still think you can add west. Learn the cba before u post. Rose is premodonna with far worse situation than Melo with continuous injuries. Melo did not join them 2 yrs ago, their turmoil with management, bulls situation is not much with cheaper owner. Be happy if Butler resigns

trade works without West buddy, Kingkobe56, and vet players sign for low amount to win rings if you have watch the NBA in the last 5 years. Management turmoil is gone, They fired Thibs. Butler is no doubt coming back to the Bulls. He is currently what is known as a RESTRICTED free agents, which means they can match and offer, but your a CBA expert. Rose is in a much better position than Melo
