76ers/ Lakers

Sixers need guards. Lakers, if they strike out on Jordan, Chandler, Love, and Aldridge( which I think will happen) need an athletic, young big.

Lakers get: Noel and Lakers #1 next year .
Sixers get: Russell.

I think this works for both teams. Lakers get a center who can run in the west, defend and rebound, and has tremendous upside. Plus get there own #1 back( which becomes much more valuable if they miss out on the above mentioned FA's).
Sixers get the pg they need to distribute and score, opening things up for okafor and embiid. I think Embiid will play, supposedly has grown to 7'2". With his ability to knock down a jumper, I feel he and okafor will work great together(Robinson and Duncan best case scenario).

This only happens if LA strikes out on top big men

I have absolutely no clue how you make the analogy to robinson and duncan as the best case scenario for embiid and okafor. Okafor plays no d. so clearly he's neither of them. And embiid, I don't know which you think he ideally could be. Really, you just picked the best "twin tower" duo. Unfortunately. Okafor and embiid don't have teh skill sets to equate to that analogy. Also, no chance the lakers would make that trade, even IF they completely strike out.

Noel, you know what you are getting. Is he a superstar. probably not. But he's a solid starter for a long time. Could be a very good player. probably along the lines of a significantly thinner DeAndre Jordan. However, in Russell you have true superstar potential. Not worth it. You can try and debate it to make it seem like it is, but we all know it isn't and the Lakers would never make that trade.

You know what. This trade makes a lot of sense for the Sixers and la. Good job. I think both teams say yes.

Agree 100% NBA.Gasol signed with griz, Monroe prob Knicks, Aldridge prob SA, Jordan prob Dallas or Clips, Chandler prob Bucks or Mavs, Love prob Cavs. Not saying the Lakers won't get one of these guys, but I don't think they are the frontrunners for any of them.

Pizza.the analogy is a dream scenario. Lighten up. Geez.

Its just a really bad analogy. Ok. dream scenerio. Okafor and Embiid turn into Jordan and Lebron.

Sixers lost all bargaining power in taking Okafor. No team will overpay now, or even pay correctly because the sixers have all big men and no guards. Seriously, Hinkie is getting more and more like David Kahn. Instead of pg's(which was Kahn's obession and ultiamtely did him in) Hinkie believes big men are the answer. I mean seriously. they have like 5-6 big men!

But as a whole, my point was mainly. Lakers would absolutely not take this trade. While Noel has a year under his belt, the fact is his ceiling is significantly less than Russell. If Lakers lose out on the big men, they aren't going to give up 10 years of Russell for a quick quazi fix. Noel isn't going to be bringing the LAkers a championship. So if they lose out, they plan for the future and the best way to do that is stick with Russell.

Maybe a Gasol/ Randolph best case scenario would have been a more obtainable comparison. And even that wowould make any Sixers fan happy for 4-8 years. Understand your points pizza. They are valid.

I don't do this unless I know if Embiid is healthy. That's the problem with the Embiid "set back." You can't trade him and you can't count on him either.

Also, timing wise, the FA smalls seem to want to commit back to their own teams. If LA strikes out on the BIGS then you might as well let them drown in their own stink and use their pick.

This might be proven wrong, but with Kobe right at the end, I'm not so sure free agents want to commit to the Lakers.
