76ers / Magic

Tobias harris can't sign with knicks, they only have $8 mill left after affalo and lopez signings. Magic said they won't pay harris a max contract. So.,

Sixers trade the rights to Dario saric to Magic for Harris in a S&T(2 years, $28 mill) Sixers then sign Corey joseph to play PG. Harris is a 17ppg, 7 rpg, shoots 47%, and 79% from line. Vefry athletic and good defender at the sf. And only 22 years old.
PG: Joseph/ Wroten
SG: Stauskas / McCrae / Thompson
SF: Harris / Covington / Grant
PF: Noel / JThompson / Landry
C: Okafor / Embiid
I like Sarics upside, but do I think he can put up numbers like Harris is?

I like that idea actually. He's solid but I hear magic won't match regardless on Harris. So we can just sign him.

I'm not ready to use up that cap space yet for Harris. although the guy can play.

@PhillyRich1

When you're weak in the back court & wing positions, how can you not want to use cap space on a 22 year old who's averaging 17ppg & shooting 47%?

Who are you going to sign instead? Philly have got to make a move for players at some point, its like Philly fans don't want a player on their team unless they look like they could be on of the GOAT's.

Solid players who know their roles help support young players, who could become stars. A team full of 'potential' & draft picks doesn't get the job done. Role players & experience needed.

Seriously though. its EXACTLY this attitude that makes no one interested in signing in philly. The fans, ownership, everything. we don't want to use our cap space. we rather lose 60+ games a year and just talk about the future potential. At some point you have to TRY. this is nonsense

Tom, you make a good point. What I was thinking is that you use up the space AFTER you've figured out what to do in next year's draft with all those picks. PLUS, I really want to see Saric in Philly.

Pizza, as usual, you don't make a good point and you're going to have to scale back your contempt for the Sixers franchise. For months you've posted with certainty that Greg Monroe would be a Knick. That pretty much disqualifies your opinion from being of any significance to me or any other Sixer fan. We're currently enjoying a collective chuckle at your expense.

As for trying, this off-season is not over. There's no indication the Sixers are not going to try to win games. At the very least, they've added Okafor and Stauskus. That hopefully puts Wroten into the 6th man slot, where he's much better than as a starter. They've improved 3 positions right there.

That's what this trade is about Pizza. Now is the time to start. That's why I suggested this trade. Cap space balloons in 2 years anyway, just in time for sixers to sign all their young guys to extensions. This "Plan" just may work. But getting a guy like tobias harris NOW is vital. We have the pathetic lakers pick next year, the ability to swap picks with the pathetic kings next year, why not get a couple guys who can play now and make us competitive. And Harris is a northeast guy. Would be a perfect fit at SF.

Harris is not a good defender and Joseph is restricted also

I love this idea but I don't know if Hinkie wants to give up Saric without trying him out
