Sixers say no for two reasons:

1. There's no reason to help the Lakers out of the grease fire since we have their pick next year.

2. Out of principal. Lakers had their shot at a big and skipped over Okafor. All they had to do was write his name on the card They don't get to have two weeks to try a strategy of signing FA BIGS then get bailed out. Nope. Sorry. You want one of the Sixers big guys, you'll have to pay up.

Right now Sam Hinkie might now trade Noel for Russell straight up. He's already moved on.

Lakers get too much for Russell.

04 Jul 2015 22:45:08
I proposed the exact trade a week ago. think it works for both sixers and lakers, especially since the LA pick looks like it could easily be in the 4-6 range. If the Lakers pull off a trade for hibbert though, this idea doesn't fly.

04 Jul 2015 23:03:18
they got hibbert lol

Got hibbert

Never mind, forget this post, it was made before Hibbert trade

Since your off-season failed, you don't get to dictate the terms of that trade. You should have drafted Okafor.

Sixers counter your offer:
Lakers get back their pick next year, add in the Miami pick. Sixers get Russell.

That's all. That's all you get. You're not getting Noel. You can wait a year and tank and suck. That's the price of your mistake of not drafting Okafor. You do not get a get-out-of-jail free card. Sorry.

How about Lakers #1, Miami #1, okc#1 for Russell?. Lakers tank with Gurantee they get their own top pick, plus two more #1's for Russell?

05 Jul 2015 14:26:03
jvoug: I'm hesitant at this point to trade both the Lakers pick and the Miami pick. They're closer and closer to being unprotected.

How about the Lakers pick, the OKC pick and the Sacramento pick for Russell?

But you're right ahout one thing, they Lakers should be playing for the future. THey're stuck in between- the abasolute worst place to be in the NBA.

05 Jul 2015 15:41:08
That's the number two pick. Not all of us wanted okafor. Your treating okafor like he's already Kareem. And your trading Russell like he's nothing

05 Jul 2015 16:36:59
The king.I am the biggest Russell fan there is. That's why I want him. I think offering a pick most likely in the 4-6 range plus two more #1's is not treating Russell like garbage. It's a lot of value, especially when you are missing future picks from past poor trades, and already have a young promising guard in Clarkson who essentially plays the same position as russell. Not saying Lakers should do it, but.?

05 Jul 2015 17:13:38
KING: I"m doing no such thing. I wanted Russell. But the Lakers took him then played a losing game of Free Agent Poker. They lost and lost big. Now they as a franchise are a grease fire. If they want to undo their pick of Russell, then they don't get to dictate the terms- especially with the question of Embiid's health.

The Sixers probably feel comfortable with their accumulated picks and cap space and the think that they can get a Russell type player next year but not get an Okafor type player next year. Isn't that the same reason why the Lakers would want to make this trade.

The Lakers should have taken Okafor. They made a mistake. If they want to undo the mistake its going to cost them. The Sixers are in a position to take any trade proposal the Lakers throw at them and simply say NO.

Jvoug is didn't mean you were treating Russell like garbage I was talking aboutnphilly because jvoug your trades are fair but you guys don't understand that Russell and clarkson can both play the two. They are combo guards at 6 foot five. We took Russell because he has star potential and we had team needs everywhere. The best point guard next year is isiah Briscoe and he's going top 10 not top 5 where the sixers might be. Would you really reach for a guard if lakers get there pick back. If lakers were to get there pick back they would draft Kentucky center skal labbisere or revisit cousins trade again
