Denver and Philadelphia

Nuggets trade Ty Lawson.

76's trade Joel Embiid and a First round pick.

Maybe throw in a couple more complementary players from either side, but that is the meat of the deal.

You're brave posting a trade in which Embiid leaves the 76's & they don't receive the world and more in return.

Sixers won't trade embiid unless the surgery goes poorly. Right now he's still a guy with potential if he heals correctly. He could be a game changer. I'll admit his value is low right now but you don't trade when your guy has low value. You trade when they have the highest value. I think I'd rather just wait embiid out them give him away for nothing. Btw Lawson has very little value right now. Getting a first for him is going to be hard enough.

It's just stupid. Lawson is basically only worth a first so you're treating Embiid as just a throw-in. If the Sixers wanted Lawson, they can easily put together a package that doesn't include Embiid.

Not sure what you're pointing at Tom? Most Sixer fans want to see the three guys all dressed for the home team.

Embiid is a throw in , he is the next Greg Oden

One of the 3 you'd have to assume is going at some point.

I'm not being funny but drafting an injured player, who has an injury to a bone in his foot, which subsequently is the bone that takes the longest to heal in the whole of the body was a poor move from Hinkie, no matter what potential is/was there.

If the sixers are waiting for him to be healthy where he can compete night in, night out before they start building their team, assuming that they're wanting to build around him, how long are they going to be waiting?

He has little value for a reason. Not because he can't be a good player but because he has a very serious injury. Its not an injury you can just brush off. He will never reach his max potential because of the injury. Those day's are gone. Sixers fan's saying they wouldn't cut their losses now they have Okafor & take a reasonable deal are very fickle. Especially when the deals can make you're team better & provide what they need. Guards & wings.

It might turn out to be a bone headed (footed) selection. But looking back in retrospect, we won't know until everything plays out such as who turns out to be a player that was considered at that spot. But surely you're right and his value is very low right now.

But, at this point the Sixers are all-in with the kid. They're not going to move him, I think, until he has a healthy full season. That may never happen. But they're not dumping the kid just yet. Hinkie has an investment background. That would be buy high, sell low.

I don't think they can count on him to be the centerpiece. With Noel and Oak, they won't have to.

And there's really no reason to move him now. They're not looking for the final missing piece to go over the top. They don't need an extra draft pick. They don't need salary cap relief. And I don't think Ty Lawson is the guy they'd pursue in any event. They might move him at some point but the guy the get will fit a specific mold.

I agree, Lawson for Embiid wouldn't be the best deal for the 76ers, the only thing Lawson would bring is experience & spreading of the floor for Okafor & would be able to get him the ball in good spots.

I hope that Embiid does get fit, we need more skilled big men in the league. As fun as it is to watch small ball, a big man who can dominate games offensively, defensively & on the glass is special to watch. (Just look at Antony Davies.)

It would just be sour for the 76ers to wait for him to get fit, him not being able to & therefore taking a massive step back.

I guess we'll see what happens over the next couple of seasons.

Hey, I'd think I'd like to see a real professional PG in Philly. I think Hinkie would try to accomplish it without losing Embiid. That seems to be his style.

Actually, Hinkie hasn't really ever traded "up" for a player. He always so far has been a vulture and focused on someone else's problems. Will be curious to see if/when he changes his approach.

I also sincerely hope that Embiid makes a full recovery. Had more to write on ptnl trade, but think that I'll keep it simple and say that "I hope he heals up correctly and soon."
