I know how much the laker fans overvalue Clarkson, about the same as Philly fans overvalue Covington. But this trade helps both teams. Both guys are young, signed to cheap contracts, Clarkson is a pg Philly needs. LA has to give the reigns to Russell, and Clarkson isn't a sg. He just isn't. Barely 30% from three. But he's a decent shooter and a good, young pg. Moving Russell to Sg takes away is value of being a pg who can shoot and create( ala Steph Curry). That's why Russell is so valuable. Bryant and Covington can both play SG or SF. Covington can guard 3 positions and is an excellent outside shooter. Last year Clarkson averaged 11.9, Covington 13.5. Next year's draft is weak on pg talent, and I like Clarkson in that full time role for Philly. Maybe a late first rounder or early second round pick needs to be added.

I think the value is comparable. Maybe add Okc #1 next year with Covington for Clarkson. I wouldn't add any more then that though.

I think philly may need to add a 2nd rd pick. But I like this trade for both teams. I don't think clarkson,Russell, L Williams back court is a great combination.

Philly should add one their point guards to the trade, or a second. Clarkson is a better than Covington maybe not by much, but philly should add something.

Covington fits LA good because he doesn't need the ball in his hands all the time like Clarkson, Russell, Bryant, and now Lou Williams. he's a spot up shooter, and actually am above average defender. Maybe Philly does Covington, Canaan( back up pg), and Denver's #2 next year for Clarkson.

Lakers say no way. Clarkson is ready and wants to play shooting guard and won't let him go for a guy who has almost the same three point percentage as his field goal percentage and clarkson when starting average more rebounds and assists then him. Lakers love clarkson and weren't willing to part with him in the cousins trade. They wouldn't do it for an unproven small forward that the sixers picked up

Please just move on from trying to get clarkson your not getting him. You went from giving the lakers their pick back to getting basically a spot up shooter. Clarkson has all star potential. Covington is just a three point guy

I think the Sixers like Covington a lot. But clarkson is a serviceable starter for sure. Sixer probably have to give a late first or early second in the deal just based on value.
Personally I don't do this trade though clarkson has done great on a bad team. I always say beware good player on bad teams. They can be unpredictable once they actually play on a good team. I think Sixers should pass since they'd have to give up a pick to do this deal. I rather keep covinginton and the pick.

Lakers drafted the same exact player in Covington when they drafted Anthony brown. Shot almost the same three point percentage as field goal percentage average 2 assists and 5 rebounds a tad above Covington and averaged 16 points. Can guard 3 positions. No point for lakers to get a duplicate

Clarkson shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as DWade. Wroten and stuckey are combo guards off the bench. So you gave me one guy, derozan. It's a bad fit Theking. Watch his value tumble when the ball is out of his hands and is with Kobe, or Russell, or Williams. Clarkson is a point guard, and you spent the second overall pick on just that, a point guard. Hope you guys play with 4 bballs every game.

Clarkdon looks good but he's not your future and if he is that's a problem. He's a second rounder for a reason. Laker ideally should have him as a back up eventually

Kobe won't play more than 28 minutes and sit out back to back. Williams is a bench spark while Russell and clarkson are out. We have a guy in Covington like Anthony brown like what I said. Lakers don't want to trade clarkson so move on to trey Burke or someone else. Lakers hang up laughing. Clarkson survived last year with Lin boozer young Ellington Kelly wanting to shoot the ball. Clarkson had 30 points 7 assists vs Westbrook. He also when guarding the MVP curry, held him to only 4 points when guarding him for 25 plus minutes. He's shown he could hold his own against the best. Clarkson was supposed to be a first round pick u till his dad died and his stats started slipping so he slipped to us. 76ers passed up on him. There are a lot of seconds players who are key players. Draymond green Marc gasol Manu Paul millsap and more
