I can't press unbelievable enough times. Clarkson is not worth a quarter of that. Not yet at least.

06 Aug 2015 14:28:03
The Lakers' 2018 1st round pick is currently owned by Orlando. Orlando gets the Lakers' #1 pick 2 years after the pick promised to the Sixers is conveyed. Its protected 1-5 in the first year its available to Orlando then unprotected the following year. This is the result of the Dwight Howard trade.

06 Aug 2015 14:34:29
Actually, I think the way that Howard trade was done is that Orlando doesn't get a 1st round pick from the Lakers until the obligation for the pick currently owned by the Sixers is satisfied.

I wonder if the Lakers get back the pick from the Sixers if it is considered "satisfied" and would then go to Orlando. So then the Lakers could actually trade their 2018 pick to the Sixers?

06 Aug 2015 15:08:16
Please I know we're getting our pick but still leave us alone with the clarkson trades. Lakers don't need Covington.

06 Aug 2015 18:48:17
Agree with KING
Clarkson has a much higher ceiling than Covington. Lakers pick this year will probably be anywhere from 7-12 based on their record. That's a good pick, but Clarkson looks to be developing into a very good player. Trading him for a rookie will set them back 2 years when they're trying to get back to contention as soon as possible. They're solid with their youth. Russell & Randle (we'll see how they develop), & even Upshaw are lottery picks (All scouts have said Upshaw would have been a lottery pick if he didn't get into so much trouble with his college teams). Clarkson has proven to be 1st rd talent and was a steal. I think A Brown can develop into a very similar player as Covington, a glue guy and role player (3 & D guy). Lakers don't need a ton of picks and a team full of rookie contracts, that's how PHI builds but not the Lakers.

You see King. I told you last week you were just trolling me.

How can you possibly disagree with my above comments about the Lakers pick. My first comment is completely factual and taken directly from an NBA Draft picks source. There's nothing to disagree with. The second comment is a valid question that someone might know or is at least food for thought.

How can anyone ever take you seriously if you're just going to act like a spoiled parasite? Stop being a child.

NewLakerDynasty 7-12 range more like 1-7 range

06 Aug 2015 22:04:59
Phillyrich1. wouldn't worry about the king trolling for much longer, summer vacation is almost over for middle schoolers. It's very childish how he disagrees with factual statements just because you posted them. Maybe he needs a timeout, or positive reinforcement, "great job the king, how about an ice cream cone buddy". Anyway, the Lakers and Sixers both will suck again.

06 Aug 2015 23:28:20
I'm sorry but two other people disagreed with it. Please keep trying to insult me it doesn't work. I asked why do you care and you said you were just asking. Well more people disagree with you than me

Mr. "Phillyrich1"
If you want to play the insult game I would gladly do so but I don't want to waste my time on someone like you. So learn to deal with it

Why trade clarkson for Covington when the Lakers drafted a player who does the same thing Covington does?

07 Aug 2015 05:08:07
@ Galaxy
Last year was their worst season on record and they were the 4th worst. They have better players this year, DAL is worse off, PHX has issues right now, UTA just lost Exum for the season, SAC is always a tinder box waiting to blow up with all of those personalities, POR tore it down, MIN has a lot of talent but is still young. I'm not saying the Lakers are making the playoffs cause that's not realistic, but 10th in the west, I'm putting that as their ceiling this year. That would be good enough to get the 12th pick. 1-7 there no way they finish in the bottom 5 (record wise I'm not talking about lottery results).

07 Aug 2015 13:43:06
The king and new laker dynasty.

I agree with the he thought that the lakers should be better this year. But in the west better doesn't help a ton. The glaring problem I see is Kobe. He has always been a ball hog and frankly it's for good reason. He was one of the best scorers in the league for so many years. But now he's lost a couple of steps. But he continues to want the ball. In clarkson I see a heavy ball hungry player and in Russell he needs the ball to be effective. add Randel in there who seems to like to dribble the ball as well and you got a receipt for chemistry issues. You can't even sub Lou Williams because he's even worse then Kobe at jacking up shots. Lakers might get out of the top ten in next years draft but it would take a really amazing coaching job.

07 Aug 2015 17:02:14
Lakers will not finish 10th in west yall have to unproven rookies clarkson who is getting better but not a really good starter and kobe is a aging star that has been injury prone lately I don't see enough upgrades to put them 10th in west

07 Aug 2015 17:46:56
@laker dynasty and galaxy I see lakers being the 13th in the west I believe they will be better than the nuggets and Timberwolves. Taking over the nuggets depends on galos health and chandlers health or completely tear it down. Blazers in my mind are underrated because they have a good defensive team in Henderson aminu vonleh Davis plum lee. Mavs sactown phx will be fighting for playoff spots. Uta will be behind them. I say lakers range is 3-10

07 Aug 2015 12:44:39
Actually, I've been baiting you for weeks into an admission that you've been trolling. I have no idea who agrees and disagrees with my comments. Don't really care.

Thanks though for the admission that you actually disagreed with a factual statement simply because of who made the statement and that its important to you to do so. I don't have to insult you. You did it to yourself. Pretty funny.

This board would be much better if there was simply an open and honest debate about the sport instead of trolling out of some personal grudge or the need to win an argument. I agree with what you say sometimes. I disagree sometimes. But I always try to look at someone else's perspective and offer a comment based on what I think is true, not based on who said it.

We all can learn from each other about the league and how it operates. That's the idea, isn't it?

Tregib
People call Kobe a ball hog but he has the most assists for any position besides point guard. You can't blame him for shooting a lot when he had players like smush Parker and kwame brown on his team. He won't shoot as much as people think he will this year.
Bb3
Laker dynasty said that the 10th spot is the ceiling. He doesn't mean they'll get there

07 Aug 2015 22:59:57
I honestly think the Lakers will be #11 or #12 in the West, probably #12. But if things click and go their way, they could be as high as #10 this year (like I said, that's their ceiling).

I think they'll finish ahead of MIN, DEN, POR, & possibly SAC. I also think they'll finish ahead of NYK, PHI in the East. That puts them at #7 overall, possibly #8 if they finish ahead of SAC. I like DET, ORL, & CHA ahead of the Lakers in the East, but not by much so that's why I think they could (I'm not saying they will, but the potential is there) to be as high as #12 pick. I think they'll end up around the #7-#9 picks.

08 Aug 2015 07:15:49
No need to get emotional @phillyrich1

09 Aug 2015 06:46:12
There cieling is probably 12th in west
chemistry not there and injuries huge factor
