BOS-SAC

Saw this somewhere, thought I would bring it up here.

BOS trades
Sullinger
Avery
Turner
Olynik
1st round from nets this year
1st round from nets in 2017

SAC trades
Cousins

1st. The salaries are spot on.
2nd. BOS already has too many players on their roster, so they would have to cut/trade anyway. And what an amazing return they would get.
3rd. SAC gets a great quality return back, plus a couple of first rounders that should be top 10-15 this year, and top 20 in 2017. Also pairs Rondo with a couple of guys he has played with before.
Lastly. SAC would have a DEEP bench, and could be a very dangerous team.

It's a win win.

I like it the return for cousins. Take out even turner he's not a very good player. Maybe one more first would lock it up for the Kings.

Of course this is only assuming cousins wants to leave. If not this trade won't happen.

Depth does you no good if you're not a playoff contender. That starting lineup gets dramatically worse taking Cousins out and replacing him with Sullinger (injury prone).

Rondo
McLemore
Gay
Sully
WCS or Koufos

They'd be worse off than they are now and there currently not a playoff contender.

Here's my problem.

All those Boston players have already played with Rondo and were unsuccessful. I don't think Rudy Gay being with them would change anything

Pull back Bradley and Turner and give them Smart.

Bradley and Turner for Gay

I don't think cousins is the centerpiece of a contender and hope Boston doesn't pull the trigger. All reports read that he alienates teammates and it doesn't look like he could lead a team. I feel he is destined to be a melo and demand a high price for little to no results for his career. Cannot give up smart for him in any way. WAY to much potential as a leader. Cousins is a good player but could not begin to replace the leadership and future potential to Boston would have to give up. The Knicks gave up a similar package for melo and how has that worked out for them?

Boogie and Melo are 2 very different players. Melo needs 40+ touches a game to be efficient where as DC will be the big man and destroy big men in the East. He won't win the West, so moving to the East will make him an MVP caliber player.

28 Aug 2015 01:30:34
It's not about his ability as a ball player. He would dominate the east but he does not elevate those around him. That's why I compare him to melo. No leadership skills and no one (except rondo) seems to want to play with him. If the best player on a team doesn't get along with others or at least make them better then how are they going to lead you to a championship? I wouldn't put the future of my franchise on his shoulders and expect championship contention. Celtics would become a top 3-4 team but would never win the east. To many other teams/superstars want rings more than boogie seems to.

I would chase Paul George and try to draft a poetl next year. Having a top 10 wing and a defensive big is more beneficial in today's game than a top 5 center that wants to play power forward.

The draft picks are great but not one of those players have all star talent.

@anothersmith I think players didn't sign with the Kings because they didn't know if cousins would be traded or not. There organization is dysfunctional. On the Paul George trade I don't think pacers would trade him

29 Aug 2015 01:03:58
The Kings dysfunctionality is a big part of it but who has he ever made better. Idk. I don't have much faith in boogie to bring a championship anywhere.

With George, he's a long shot now but he does not want to play the 4 and coach and gm have said they want him to almost exclusively play the 4 so they can play small and fast. I think he gets pissed and about mid season we start hearing about some contention between him and the organization. He also wants to contend and the pacers are no where near contention. Just a thought but don't be surprised if George moves around trade deadline or draft

Once again, everyone assumes that the Kings will give away the best center in the NBA in exchange for draft picks and depth.
