76ers / Twolves

I think the shabazz Muhammad idea to Philly is just to good of a fit to ignore. The guy is 22, shot 49% from floor, 39% from 3pt, and scored 13.5 ppg in a limited role. Give this guy 38-40 min a game, and he could be a stud. Twolves can't give him that, and have Wiggins and Martin already there. How about making Minnesota a really good offer. This guy could be our " James harden" type deal.

Sixers get: Muhammad, Pekovic

Twolves get: Grant, Miami #1, Denver #2

Sixers give up a mid to later #1, and a defensive minded young forwards. Take back Peks salary without asking compensation in return. I know this goes against the grain, but I think Miami#1 and Grant is underpaying a bit for Muhammad. So taking back the financial burden of Pek offsets this. Adding Denver's #2 this year( prob 31-35) may be enought to get Minn to say yes. To get rid of peks contract is going to be hard, this may be an opportunity that Minnesota will take advantage of.

how about Shabazz just straight up for the Miami 1st and Denver 2nd?

Mr best: I don't know if Minnesota would go for that. I'd give them the Miami #1 and the OKC #1 for shabazz though. It may be overpaying a bit, but sometimes you have to . I think he can be a 18-22 ppg guy for the next 4-6 years. he's only 22

Jvoug, I'm with you. Three years ago, coming out of high school, he was the clear favorite to be the first pick in the NBA draft with his tools. A lackluster season at UCLA and some weirdness from his dad dropped him in the lottery. He showed up out of shape, and did little his rookie year. However, he had the drive to completely remodel his body last summer, and did it this summer too. I love his drive to be great, and I value him as every bit as good a prospect as Zach LaVine,

I also agree that moving Pekovic's contract (3 years, $36 mil) would be a big deal for the team - though fans may selfishly disagree. Pekovic's health is still a giant question mark though. He is at training camp, but has not been cleared for team practice. This uncertainty makes it very hard to figure out that value. For example, if Pek can never play again, he could have his cap hit voided by mid-season. If he can play 25 minutes a game, he's not horribly overpaid after the last round of free agent deals for big men. If he is in the middle, then his contract is worse and worse.

Because of that uncertainty, I don't think MIN (or the other team, for that matter) would touch a Pek trade right now.

I will say though that using picks to get Shabazz is realistic. MIN definitely has a logjam for minutes, so picks are a good return (value but no minutes) and MIN owes it's 2018 right now. I imagine they'd want a pick back that has the same upside that Shabazz has. Taylor has often moved logjammed players as well, to help them with their careers, so a Shabazz-to-PHI deal would not shock me at all. Good Job,

Love the trade! As you said in Philly Shabazz really could get some minutes and that surely will increase his value big time to trade him eventually again or to build on him for seasons to come with the 76ers. I rather think the Sixers still would pass, not because of the picks, but of Pekovic's contract. He earns $12,1 million/3yrs and that's going to restrict them so hard and takes pretty much all the caps space they shoveled away.

Question: Is Embiid tradeable, although he is injured? If so, I wonder whether the Rubio to Philly trade scenarios could be revived then.

I like it. It takes two guys that will be crowded out of playing time and returns a young defensive minded (cheap) player that can shoot and play 3/4. It also frees up some $ and gets them another pick.

Sixers get an offensive talent at the swing to go with Stauskus. Sixers don't mind Pek's $. They'll play him with the other guys then move him to a team near the top at the trade deadline. Or, keep him for Embiid insurance.

Its a win-win. Make it happen.
