Melo goes to a contender and the heat shed salary in the process, they give up Winslow which is a huge loss, but get a star who's in win now mode

BOS gets a veteran center to add toughness to them who's on an expiring deal. They get a huge pickup in Winslow and give uo 2 mid round 1sts in return.

SF: Melo/Green/Ennis
PF: Bosh/McRoberts/Haslem
C: Whiteside/Stoudemire
They have decent depth in the front court and at SF. They just need help at the 2 guard positions. Maybe try and get Luke Ridnour as a backup PG with a min contract. Still can compete for the ECF with that starting 5 unless chemistry isn't there.

The Knicks wouldn't do this because they would want Winslow. They aren't trading their center piece for some mid round 1sts and expiring contracts. They need to gain some actual desirable assets. Especially if they don't want the fan base to turn into dolan's lynch mob lol.

I agree NYK would want Winslow. But teams usually want picks when rebuilding and MIA has no 1sts to give until 2022 I think. To get a 3rd team involved with picks to give would require Winslow going to the 3rd team for them to release those picks.
Would NYK be ok dealing directly with MIA to get Winslow an no picks?

I don't think Bosh is a good fit for the Knicks with Lopez and Porzingas.

I actually like bosh as a stretch 4, but bosh and prozingas as the bigs would be too small. I just don't think the knicks would deal with the heat directly. The second offer just isn't a good offer. It's essentially winslow for Melo, and that just isn't a good return. Also, the knicks dislike the heat. I don't think melo ends up with the heat, even if the knicks decide to trade him. There are a lot of destinations that make sense, this one just doesn't because of an inability to provide necessary assets to the knicks.
