Trade idea I saw online from a credible source. ONLY AN IDEA NOT A N ACTUAL TRADE.

Bulls trade rose:

Sixers trade: lakers first and Miami first

This would most likely be draft day according to the reports.

Too much or too little for Derrick rose?

If laker pick is #4-6, I say no from the Sixers. If laker pick is #7_10, I would do it from Sixers perspective, but bulls wouldn't go for it.

I am really high on Jamal Murray at pg in the upcoming draft. I think he is a top 4 talent, but with other probable lottery teams being guard heavy already ( nuggets, celtics via NJ, Twolves and blazers, ) Murray may be available in the 6_8 range. If that's the case, I would prefer philly to use the pick instead of dealing it for an often injured, but very talented, derrick rose.

It's way too early to really figure this out. First, you need to know how the picks end up. If the lakers end up somehow as a fringe playoff team (don't see this) then it doesn't have much value.

As for the other side, a lot depends on how Rose's season ends up. Not only statistically, but also as far as his relationship with management and teammates. I can see this being relatively close value-wise. but then again, it's for 1 year, and seriously doubtful Rose would have any interest in resigning with the sixers seeing as they are in a long rebuild process.

I saw that in the Philly papers. Not sure about the "credible source" part (John Smallwood? ) .

Rose when healthy and when his head is right is obviously a stud player. Its a gamble from that perspective. Did I see he's battling double vision?

My thought is that the Bulls would want a real NBA player back, not just picks. And the Sixers really don't have any NBA players to spare.

Additionally, it's a very very real chance the Lakers keep their pick this year. Wouldn't it be wild if the Sixers got the first overall and the Lakers the 2nd, or vice versa? With Skal and Simmons, the clear top prospects, still on the board. what do the sixers do?

You clearly have more than enough young prospects that are 6'10 or above, and you need a pg. So, what would happen? If you pass on the pg, take one of the pf (I know simmons is listed at sf/pf, but let's be real, 19 y/o, 6'10, 240lb. that's going to end in pf. ) are you then going to have any chance of snagging the pg you need at say 20 or so?

From past posts on here, so much of this rebuild seems dependent on the reliance of this year's Laker pick. However, if they fail to get it, and LA is able to rid themselves of Kobe's contract and possibly bring in some new, solid talent. could just end up hurting the rebuild. Interesting situation to say the least.

I hope the lakers aren't a team nowhere near keeping there pick and are a team that's like 7th worst. I hope lakers make the playoffs or are close to it but if not close to the playoffs I hope they get a top three pick as much as it hurts me to say for them to be bad as Simmons and labbisere are intriguing.

If sixers do not get the pick this year it becomes unprotected next year. They'd probably rather pick this upcoming draft but pushing it back wouldn't be a total disaster since (hopefully) saric and embiid are contributors next season along with their own top pick.

Draft wise it's too early to predict but obviously they need talented smalls and if bigs are the top ranked that allows opportunity to trade down. There will be more maneuvering this draft since many teams have multiple picks unlike last year.

Smallwood is a credible source as he is a profession basketball journalist. No matter wat you think of him he is a professional.

As far as this trade goes in my opinion I don't do it if I'm the Sixers. I think bulls need a center to replace gasol and Noah so I would try to work a trade around Embiid and rose.

Probably be Embiid and Miami pick for rose.

Sixers have plenty of bigs so no real loss there for them if they get a quality star back in return. Embiid and rose have both had injury histories. Both personality issues. Could work out for everyone. Bulls get an extra first because rose is has more credibility.

Smallwood in the article said there was no source, he just had a thought to toss out.

Philly, same protection for 2017 as 2016. Top 3 protected. Unprotected in 2018. Issue is the massive cap replace they have. Terrible luck pay couple years but always a player in free agency and a drastic immediate change.

Also, rose ha injury history and playing history. Embiid ha only one. The character issue with rose is dealing with management and the friend that accused him of sexual assault. No charges though. Embiids issues deal with laziness and refusal to listen to coaches and trainers alike. I think embiid has great potential if he ever gets his act together, but I wouldn't put them in the same box. I just don't think rose is good for Philly. He will not stay when his contract is up.

Pizza. Rose has severe character issues. He seems to only care about palying well so he gets paid his money. I feel like he's going to play hard to get A big contract in2017 and then he'll stop trying once he get his money.

That being said Sixers needs a Star of some kind to gain the credibility need to make that leap to a championship team. They probably need a star through trade. And a star through free agency. Then they will take the jump. If that cost them Embiid I don't care that much. Noel and okafor and saric is fine with me.
