If the Pelicans want to surround Davis with superstar talent, why not go after the two most available players that have (at least at one time) held the title of superstar?
Pelicans get Derrick Rose and Carmelo Anthony
Knicks get Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson
Bulls get Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holliday
A few points to make:
1. Clearly, this current roster built around Davis is not enough.
2. Rose and Melo have both been rumored to be available.
3. Knicks get two things they need: a big expiring contract, a flippable piece in Anderson.
4. Bulls get two things they'd need in a Rose deal: a point to replace Rose and a versatile wing without committing future $$$.
5. A lineup of Rose, (a shooting guard in a subsequent deal), Melo, Davis, and Asik is better than what they have now.
WAY out there and what-not, but is this at least intriguing?

You think Knicks would do that without even receiving a pick? Men.

For derrick rose, mayyyybe thatll work. For melo, that's laughable. First, there are no viable rumors that he is being shopped, quite the opposite. Second, the knicks are looking for a big expiring and a flipable piece for their star? Seriously? As USA, no picks, no prospects, no good players. just make the move to rid themselves of melo?
Come on, you can at least try better than that.

I'm a Pels fan but even I say there's no way Knicks would do this. Pels are going to have to salvage this season somehow, get injury free and come FA 2016 They have a great cap situation to draw the pieces they need around AD.
