The LA Lakers went to their inside game against the smaller Chicago Bulls. The strategy worked to perfection. Pau Gasol scored 24 of his season high 34 points in the 1st half, Andrew Bynum added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocked shots, and the Lakers rebounded from their 1st loss of the season with a 116-109 win over the Bulls on Tuesday night.

Shocking as it might sound, the LA Lakers broke out of a shooting slump Sunday night. Shocking because they have not lost a game so far this season. Kobe Bryant scored 23 points, Pau Gasol added 20 points, 15 rebounds and 3 blocked shots, and the Lakers shot 65.8 percent in the 2nd half in a 111-82 win over the Houston Rockets.

In a now it can be told admission, Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak acknowledged that the trade late last season that brought forward-center Pau Gasol to the Lakers resulted in the Lakers giving up less than the Memphis Grizzlies originally sought.

Already the defending world champion, Spain is one win away from an Olympic gold medal. Pau Gasol scored 19 points as Spain defeated Lithuania 91-86 Friday to advance to the Olympic gold medal game for the 1st time since 1984.

LA Lakers center Pau Gasol scored 20 points to lead world champion Spain to a 72-59 triumph against Croatia Wednesday in men's basketball. Felipe Reyes added 13 points for Spain, whilst Toronto Raptors point guard Jose Calderon added 10. Gasol also had a game high 10 rebounds. Marko Banic had 15 points to lead Croatia.

Spain and Pau Gasol had mentioned too much was being made about a controversial photo the team did for an ad campaign and Thursday they played like it in a convincing 72-59 win against Germany. Gasol, the LA Lakers center, scored 13 points for Spain, which was cheered by the crowd at the basketball arena.

Will he play in Memphis next season? That appears to be a 50-50 proposition as Javaris Crittenton, a 6-5 combo guard, is probably the odd man out in the 5 way guard conundrum facing the Grizzlies. Crittenton, whom Memphis acquired in the Pau Gasol trade with the Lakers in February, is expecting to have another address new off his summer workout and the realization of where he fits in the pecking order.
