The possibility of earning $80 million for 5 seasons did not catch Chris Paul's attention. The Hornets' All Star point guard was more interested in signing a shorter term extension that provided assurances that the team's core group, center Tyson Chandler and forwards David West and Peja Stojakovic, would remain together for the next 3 seasons.

Tyson Chandler had a rare game without a basket, Peja Stojakovic did not hit one 3 pointer and David West had an awful shooting night whilst turning the ball over 3 times. The Hornets looked tense, stressed and sometimes lost on offense in their 100-80 Game 4 loss at San Antonio.

Please use our Rumors Form to send us your NBA Rumors Peja Stojakovic's streak of consecutive 3 pointers was in jeopardy. He had made at least one in 35 straight games, however through 47 minutes Tuesday was 1 for 10 from the field with no 3s. He was due, and the swingman came through.

Peja Stojakovic grunted as he got up slowly from in front of his locker, then smiled bashfully before uttering, "old bones". Stojakovic could have felt all of his 30 years after Friday night's game against the L.A Clippers was over, however he shot like the All Star he once was when the Hornets needed a lift.
