The Suns traded guard D.J. Strawberry to the Houston Rockets Monday for rookie guard Sean Singletary. "Sean gives us depth at the point guard spot", Suns GM Steve Kerr said. "We like his instincts and his ability to run a team. He also puts a lot of load on the ball.

During an interview about the launch of her new video-sharing Web site, Shaunie O'Neal informed The Associated Press that the couple plans to stop divorce proceedings soon. "Neither one of us would probably answer why we were getting one in the 1st place", Shaunie O'Neal said.

The Suns continued a toughening theme Thursday, signing 25 year old power forward Louis Amundson to bring energy and defense to the bench. Amundson, who is 6 feet 9 and 225 pounds, is fully guaranteed for 2008/2009 on a minimum deal worth $711,517.

Well traveled sharpshooter Matt Barnes signed a one year contract with the Suns Tuesday. The 6 foot 7 forward spent the last 2 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, averaging 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds. His best season came in 2006-07, when he averaged 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds, then had 11.1 points and 5.7 rebounds in 11 playoff games.

Free agent forward Matt Barnes will arrive in Phoenix Monday, expecting to sign a one year veteran's minimum deal with the Suns after completing a physical. Barnes, 28, spent the past 2 seasons in a mostly reserve position with the Golden State Warriors. He collected a career best 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in the 2006-07 season.

The Suns need to sign 3 players to reached the 13 man roster minimum. The priority was to land a veteran point guard before signing a wing and a big man. Phoenix will pursue Sam Cassell, Damon Stoudamire or Jason Williams to be its backup point and Carlos Arroyo if he fell to minimum-contract status.
