Rajon Rondo is hoping that he can be a Celtic long after the Big 3 are gone. GM Danny Ainge mentioned yesterday that the $2.09 million team option on Rondo for the 2009-10 season will be exercised before this season. Rondo and his agent, Bill Duffy, mentioned they are happy about the decision and they hope to ink a long term deal next summer.

Rajon Rondo was not hurting, however he certainly was not helping. That was the message from Boston coach Doc Rivers, who played his point guard only 14 1/2 minutes Sunday night in the Celtics' 103-98 loss to the LA Lakers in Game 5 of the NBA finals. "Rondo is only not playing well right now", Rivers said.

Rajon Rondo came in hurt and Kendrick Perkins went out that way. Good thing for the Boston Celtics they had reserves to fill those roles. Boston rode big bench contributions from James Posey and Eddie House to a 97-91 win over the LA Lakers Thursday, taking a 3-1 lead in the NBA finals.

When the time came to jump, Rondo stood in place, unable to take part due to the ankle injury that left him on the bench for most of the 2nd half during Game 3 of the NBA finals.

Rajon Rondo silenced Atlanta's blustery point guard, on the court, at least, and Kevin Garnett had 19 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday as Boston beat the Hawks 96-77 to take a 2-0 lead in the 1st round series.

The Celtics and Bucks are both planning for the future, Boston is resting up for the playoffs, and Milwaukee is looking even further ahead. Rajon Rondo had 16 points and 10 assists and the Celtics coasted to a 102-86 win over Milwaukee Friday.

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo watched practice from a stationary bike Thursday as he nursed a sore right hamstring. Rondo was hurt Wednesday night in the 3rd quarter of Boston's triumph over Phoenix.

The Celtics' opponents are learning a hard lesson, Pay too much attention to the Big 3 and their solid supporting cast will beat you. Kendrick Perkins scored 19 points and Rajon Rondo had a career high 16 assists in Boston's 108-100 win over the Charlotte Bobcats Friday. "(That) shows how unselfish Rajon is", mentioned Celtics forward Paul Pierce, who scored 13 points.

Rondo had a season high 12 rebounds, swiping the ball from Nowitzki and putting in a reverse layup with 42 seconds left to give the Celtics the lead, and Boston held on to beat the Mavericks 96-90 Thursday.

The Boston Celtics have exercised their contract option on starting point guard Rajon Rondo for the 2008/2009 season. The team is counting on the 2nd year pro to play that position in a lineup with players Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.
