Ray Allen was not so sure Boston would be able to pull it out in overtime. The Celtics had not scored in nearly 3 minutes and were fading fast in their 8th game in 12 days. However, Paul Pierce hit a 3 pointer on a 2nd chance, and he and Allen hit all 6 of their free throws, lifting Boston to a scrappy 102-97 overtime win over the Bucks on Saturday night.

The sweet shooter in the end shot his way to an NBA title. Only it came despite some hectic and burdensome terms. Ray Allen rushed hurriedly from Staples Center after Game 5 to address a personal issue, revealing Tuesday that his youngest son was diagnosed with diabetes.

Ray Allen played the last 2 games of the NBA finals knowing his son had diabetes. The Celtics shooting player even had to take an overnight flight from L.A after spending time with him at a hospital.

The Celtics in the end made it home from L.A last night, even though the team arrived without guard Ray Allen. The Celtics' flight out of LA International Airport was delayed yesterday when their plane experienced mechanical problems.

The Boston Celtics expect Ray Allen to rediscover his shooting touch before the Big 3 becomes the Big 2 and championship No.17 becomes a pipe dream. The Celtics advanced to the Eastern Conference finals and had taken a 1-0 lead over the Pistons without much scoring from Allen, an 8 time All Star closing in on 20,000 career points.

Long after practice ended, Ray Allen was still on the court firing up jumpers. He was even making most of them. That overtime work Monday showed that, like his Celtics teammates, he has a lot of energy left after 2 intense 7 game series.
