Tayshaun Prince more than made up for Allen Iverson's absence, making sure the Pistons remained unbeaten. Prince scored 16 of his 27 points in the 2nd quarter, and Richard Hamilton had 22 to help the Pistons beat the Toronto Raptors 100-93 on Wednesday night.

The Pistons kept one All Star guard under contract for years to come on the same day they sent one packing. Richard Hamilton and the Pistons have agreed to a 3 year contract extension worth about $34 million, a basketball official informed The Associated Press on Monday night.

The Pistons are getting one more chance to return to the NBA finals for the first time since 2005 despite threats that the familiar cast was going to get broken up. Rasheed Wallace said he was not worried about the possibility of getting traded, but he's thankful to have another shot to make a run with Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince.

Detroit All Star Richard Hamilton strained his right elbow in the final seconds of Boston's 106-102 playoff win over the Pistons Wednesday. X-rays were negative. "It is sore a little bit", Pistons coach Flip Saunders mentioned after the Celtics had taken a 3-2 lead in the best of 7 Eastern Conference finals.

The Pistons were searching for reliable backups for All Star guards Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton for years. They might have in the end found them. With Hamilton sidelined with a sore hip, rookies Rodney Stuckey and Arron Afflalo stepped up to help the Pistons end Phoenix's 7 game winning streak with a 110-105 overtime win Monday night.

With Rasheed Wallace out and Richard Hamilton sticking around for less than a half, it was up to Tayshaun Prince and the Detroit reserves to carry the Pistons. Prince bounced back from a horrendous game in his last trip to Madison Square Garden, scoring 28 points and leading the Pistons to a 101-97 win over the New York Knicks Friday.

Rasheed Wallace stole a pass on the opening possession against the Orlando Magic. In the 1st 2 1/2 minutes, the Pistons' forward scored 7 points, blocked a shot and grabbed a rebound. When Wallace's pace slowed, Richard Hamilton picked up the slack.

The Pistons' energy and enthusiasm impressed Wizards coach Eddie Jordan. He wished he would seen some of the same from his own team Wednesday night. Richard Hamilton's 20 points made him the tenth leading scorer in Pistons history, and he added 9 assists and 7 rebounds to help Detroit earn its tenth consecutive win by triumphing over Washington 106-93.
