Salim Stoudamire has escaped pro basketball's burial grounds, the Atlanta Hawks, and now will play for a winner. The ex Wildcat shooting player signed with the San Antonio Spurs and expects to replace the 3 point shooting threat of Brent Barry and perhaps Robert Horry. In 3 years with the dismal Hawks, Stoudamire averaged only 17 minutes per game and was often slowed by a chronic ankle injury.

It is appearing more and more like Robert Horry's days as a Spur are over. Horry, who won 2 of his 7 NBA championships with the Spurs, has mentioned he would like to play a 17th NBA season and would prefer to do it in San Antonio. However, dialogue between Horry and the Spurs was scant.

San Antonio Spurs forward Robert Horry has decided against retirement and would like to return to the NBA for a 17th season, a Houston television station reported Friday. Horry will become a free agent July 1st. "I do not want to retire, especially after a year like I had last year", Horry informed KRIV-TV in Houston.

The Hornets think Robert Horry could have intended to do what he did to David West. In another 2nd round, in another potentially series-changing moment, Horry had bumped into another guy with a bad back. Tyson Chandler summed up the mood of the locker room when asked if Horry's blow was intended for someone already with a bad back.

Spurs forward Robert Horry set an NBA record by appearing in his 238th playoff game during Game 5 of San Antonio's series against New Orleans Tuesday. Coming into the playoffs, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar held the previous record for playoff appearances with 237. Horry, in his 16th season, was in the playoffs in all of them, winning 2 championships with the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs and 3 with the LA Lakers.

The Spurs' Robert Horry is going for his 7th ring. Teammate Michael Finley is going for his 1st. However, for both players, in the twilight of their careers, winning the NBA championship would still be special. "It is going to hit Michael a little harder than it will hit me", mentioned Horry, who could soon have a 7th ring.
