Lakers forward Ronny Turiaf, a restricted free agent, got the big money he was seeking Thursday, about $17 million over 4 years. What remains to be determined is who will be paying him, the Golden State Warriors, who signed Turiaf to an offer sheet, or the Lakers, who have 7 days to match that offer. Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak had no comment upon receiving the paperwork.

Lakers forward Ronny Turiaf, a restricted free agent, expects to sign an offer sheet with the Golden State Warriors today, as stated by a league source with knowledge of the negotiations. It could be a 4 year deal for about $17 million.

The Lakers continue to wait for Sasha Vujacic and Ronny Turiaf, however they have fall back plans in case their restricted free agents do not re-sign with them. The Lakers have talked with representatives of Boston small forward James Posey and veteran San Antonio sharpshooter Brent Barry to gauge the free agents' interest.

The Lakers are well over the salary cap and cannot sign any big names on other teams, so they hope to retain 2 of their own players, Sasha Vujacic and Ronny Turiaf. Both are restricted free agents, meaning the Lakers can match any offer sheet they sign with another team.

The LA Lakers have given qualifying offers to restricted free agents Sasha Vujacic and Ronny Turiaf. GM Mitch Kupchak said the moves Monday. The Lakers, beaten by Boston in 6 games in the NBA finals, expect to remain essentially intact for next season.

Ronny Turiaf and Andrew Bynum each scored 18 points to lead the LA Lakers past the Kings 101-97 Friday in the team's final preseason game. Turiaf, who was 5 of 7 from the field, had 8 rebounds, whilst Bynum, who was 7 of 10 from the field, had seven.
