Rashad McCants scored 13 of his 15 points in the 4th quarter and Rodney Carney and Ryan Gomes hit consecutive 3s to help Minnesota spoil the Oklahoma City Thunder's preseason debut with an 88-82 win Wednesday night. The game was the Thunder's 1st since the team moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City during the offseason.

The Timberwolves extended qualifying offers to restricted free agents Ryan Gomes, Craig Smith and Chris Richard Monday and chose to allow Sebastian Telfair and Kirk Snyder become unrestricted free agents.

Al Jefferson responded well to his latest challenge. Jefferson had 22 points and 14 rebounds, Ryan Gomes added 19 points and the Timberwolves beat the L.A Clippers 99-90 Monday night. Minnesota won for the 4th time in 6 games and moved past Seattle into 4th place in the Northwest Division.

The shots kept clanging off the rim, one after another. Dunks, layups, 3 pointers. It did not matter. Nothing was going in. In a game where hardly anybody would put the ball in the basket, Al Jefferson and Ryan Gomes gave the Timberwolves more than enough.

The Celtics will soon land All Star forward Kevin Garnett in this offseason's blockbuster trade. Boston, in return, has agreed to send Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair and 2 1st round picks to the Timberwolves.
