Manu Ginobili did not suit up for Argentina's bronze-medal game against Lithuania at the Olympics Sunday and mentioned after the 87-75 win that he was headed for San Antonio for more tests on the strained ligament in his left foot. It is the same injury that hobbled him at the end of the Spurs' season.

Michael Finley is poised to re-sign with the San Antonio Spurs. According to a report posted on ESPN.com Friday that cited NBA front office sources, the 35 year old guard forward has reached terms on a deal with the Spurs.

Terms were not available, the report said. With Manu Ginobili providing a spark for the Spurs off the bench, Finley started 61 games last season.

It is appearing more and more like Robert Horry's days as a Spur are over. Horry, who won 2 of his 7 NBA championships with the Spurs, has mentioned he would like to play a 17th NBA season and would prefer to do it in San Antonio. However, dialogue between Horry and the Spurs was scant.

The San Antonio Spurs re-signed Kurt Thomas Tuesday, getting the veteran forward under contract after trading for him in February. Terms of the deal were not disclosed however Spurs GM R.C. Buford mentioned Thomas will be with the team at least 2 seasons.

LA Lakers forward Luke Walton underwent surgery Friday to remove bone spurs and scar tissue and clean up some cartilage debris from his right ankle. The team mentioned the operation had taken about and hour and was performed by Dr. David Thordarson at the University of Southern California.

Free agent guard Roger Mason signed with the San Antonio Spurs Friday. The Spurs did not disclose terms of the deal, however Mason's agent, Mark Bartelstein, informed The Associated Press Thursday that Mason was to sign a 2 year contract for "just a little less than" $8 million. Mason spent the last 2 seasons with the Wizards.

The San Antonio Spurs and unrestricted free agent Roger Mason have agreed to terms on a 2 year deal worth more than $7 million, Mason's agent mentioned Thursday. "We have got a deal done", Mark Bartelstein informed The AP by phone.
