Why is the shooting guard decision so difficult for the Cavs? Probably because they do not really have a strong option at the position. Sasha Pavlovic showed flashes in 2007 however has shown little in the opportunities he's been given.

Cavaliers swingman Sasha Pavlovic will miss at least the 1st round of the playoffs with a sprained ankle. Pavlovic injured his left ankle in the 3rd quarter of Monday night's 91-90 triumph at Philadelphia. He's expectations to miss 2 to 3 weeks.

Just as Sasha Pavlovic was finding his game, the Cavaliers lost him. Pavlovic would miss up to 2 months with a sprained left foot, a blow to the defending Eastern Conference champions, who are playing their best ball this season.

Sasha Pavlovic agreed to a 3 year contract with the Cavaliers Tuesday, ending his long holdout. Pavlovic's agent, Marc Cornstein, said the deal however declined to talk about financial terms.

LeBron James gave his most in-depth interview in weeks about the state of the team as only 8 days remain before the starting of the season. Whilst the absence of Anderson Varejao and Sasha Pavlovic with contract issues has perhaps become a tired subject, there is no doubt it still weighs heavily on the minds of James and the rest of the Cavaliers after what was a mostly lackluster preseason.

Unrestricted free agent James Posey has drawn the interest of several teams, that included the Mavericks. However, Posey, the one time Heat defensive stopper, is caught in the same logjam as many other unrestricted free agents who are waiting for restricted free agents Pietrus and Sasha Pavlovic to be signed.

Free agency has become a holding pattern for the Mavericks and numerous other NBA teams.The reason, uncertainty surrounding restricted free agents Mickael Pietrus of Golden State and Sasha Pavlovic of Cleveland.Teams were reluctant to commit to other big guards or small forwards until Pietrus and Pavlovic sign.

The Cavaliers have salary-cap issues and might be unable to re-sign Anderson Varejao and Sasha Pavlovic, 2 of their top 6 players. Do not be surprised to see them offering Drew Gooden, and he would end up with the Bulls, reuniting with college teammate Kirk Hinrich.
