The Charlotte Bobcats signed guard Shannon Brown to a one year deal Wednesday for the NBA minimum of about $800,000. The 6 foot 4 Brown played in 21 games for Cleveland and Chicago last season and had 2 stints in the NBA Development League. Brown was the 25th overall pick by Cleveland in 2006 after leaving Michigan State following his junior year.

The fact Chris Duhon is still in Chicago is a bit of a surprise. According to an NBA source, the 4th year point guard originally was part of last week's three-team, 11 player trade (in place of Adrian Griffin) that brought Hughes, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown to town.

Shannon Brown missed all 5 shots, made 2 turnovers and did not score in 6 minutes of Cleveland's 92-74 season-opening loss to the Mavericks Wednesday. After the game, he got swatted, by the Cavaliers.

Cavaliers guard Shannon Brown mentioned Wednesday he was involved in an fight with a security guard at a downtown nightclub that started after he was escorted from the bar for wearing a hat.
